Thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate Sussex Day at Seaford Beach. It was wonderful to see so many members of our community coming together to enjoy and celebrate our fantastic county. Events like these remind us of the strength of our local community and the importance of sharing our traditions and heritage with one another.

A special thank you to the Seaford Deputy Town Crier and the Deputy Mayor of Seaford for joining us and helping to make the occasion so memorable. Your support helped make it a truly special day.

Just a quick update for everyone visiting South Hill Barn – the parking machines are now installed and operational.

Seaford Town Council has introduced a trial of a paid parking system at the South Hill Barn car park until 31 March 2027. The aim is to help manage parking more effectively, reduce congestion, prevent parking alongside the track, and improve the experience for both residents and visitors enjoying this beautiful area.

Recognising that Seaford residents already support the Seaford Head Estate and South Hill Barn through their council tax, BN25 residents can apply for a FREE parking permit, giving them unlimited free parking at South Hill Barn throughout the duration of the trial. Non-residents will need to pay for parking, with the income received funding the employment of our Car Park Attendants.

As we approach Armed Forces Day, Seaford Town Council warmly invites residents and visitors to come together in recognising and expressing our gratitude for the dedication and service of the UK’s Armed Forces—both past and present.

This simple but meaningful ceremony is an opportunity for our community to come together in honour, remembrance and appreciation of our Armed Forces community.

𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘅 𝗗𝗮𝘆 is the county day for the historic county of Sussex and is traditionally observed on 16th June each year to celebrate the rich heritage and culture of Sussex.

Seaford Town Council will be holding a short ceremony on 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟲𝘁𝗵 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲, 𝗮𝘁 𝟭𝟬𝗮𝗺 near the Martello Tower on Seaford seafront in honour of Sussex Day. Seaford Deputy Town Crier, Ben Robinson, will cry ‘The Sussex Day Cry’ followed by a more humorous Seaford version! The Deputy Mayor of Seaford will then raise the Sussex flag near the Martello Tower.

This is a public‑facing, outdoor role providing a visible presence, assisting visitors, managing vehicle movements, and supporting the Council during busy periods, weekends, bank holidays, and peak visitor times.
