Chyngton School We are a local primary school in Seaford. Chyngton is a community school for children aged between the ages of 4 and 11 years. What makes our school different?

A very warm welcome to Chyngton School in Seaford, East Sussex: close to Friston Forest, the South Downs, Cuckmere Haven and the sea. We have a fabulous school building, play facilities, garden and swimming pool. Our school is well known for the care we give to every child and for our commitment to high quality teaching, an exciting curriculum and high achievement. We are a school that is very open to parents. There are regular consultations with pupils and parents, and many parents volunteer to work in class. Our PTA is very active and provides many social and fundraising events for the school, including our famous discos, talent show and BBQ & Swim! We think of ourselves as a large family in which we all live and learn together and from which all children move on with pride in themselves and their achievements, and many happy memories. 🌟 We’re incredibly proud to share some fantastic news! 🌟
In March 2026, Chyngton School achieved the OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) Platinum Award — the highest standard possible. This outstanding achievement recognises our commitment to providing exceptional outdoor play opportunities that support happier, healthier and more resilient children. We are absolutely delighted to be celebrating this huge success with our whole school community! 💚🎉
We would like to thank our parents, Mr Adams and the Play Teams for their enormous efforts to bring creative play to the children at Chyngton.

Help Inform Childcare in East Sussex
Thank you to everyone who has already completed our Childcare Sufficiency survey. If you haven’t had the chance to do so yet, we kindly ask you to share your views using the link below.
East Sussex County Council must publish a Childcare Sufficiency Report every year. This report explains how the Council plans to ensure there are enough childcare places for families who are working, studying, or training.
It covers childcare for children from birth to age 14 (or up to age 18 for children with disabilities).
To help inform the 2027 report, we will be gathering feedback from parents and carers at several points throughout the year. As part of this, we would be grateful if you could complete this survey by 13th April at 10am using the link below.

We’re delighted to share that our Ofsted report from the recent inspection is now published. We are incredibly proud of the positive feedback it contains.
The report reflects the hard work of our amazing staff, the kindness and enthusiasm of our children, and the strong support of our parents and carers. Chyngton truly is a special community, and this outcome celebrates what we achieve together.
