**DO YOU RECOGNISE THIS HOLIDAY HOME?**

I need some help to find the owners of this ‘vintage’ horse box. It is currently enjoying an extended stay on the corner of Pitt Drive and Lexden Drive

Do you recognise it? What ever will we find inside?!!!! Please share to help us solve the mystery!

Councillors are here to help sort out the things that need sorting out in our town.

Seaford South and Seaford North councillors are now working together, teaming up to help get local problems dealt with efficiently.

A lot of people don’t actually know who to contact, or understandably feel like reporting things won’t make much difference — so I really want to encourage people to get in touch with us when something needs attention.

That’s why we’re here.

We are genuinely trying to improve the town wherever we can. xx

Today Reform took the leadership position at East Sussex County Council.

That’s true, but it isn’t the whole story.

The Conservatives used their three votes to secure that outcome and, judging by some of the noise online, you’d think one party now completely controls East Sussex. They don’t.

Every committee contains councillors from across the chamber. Decisions will be scrutinised properly and no single group has overall control.

The structure of the council now means that different parties will need to engage, challenge and work across the chamber on behalf of the towns and communities we represent.

I learned a lot today, but I still feel exactly the same about my job.

We are still here, still working, and your voices still matter.

Tomorrow the new East Sussex County Council meets formally for the first time since the election.

It’s the meeting where:
• committee places are decided
• chairs and vice chairs are appointed
• political groups organise themselves
• and the direction and tone of the council starts to become clearer

Which, in fairness, sounds like the dullest sentence ever written until you remember these decisions affect roads, social care, education, transport, libraries, public health and an enormous amount of daily life in East Sussex.

The only promise I can honestly give, is that regardless of how it all lands - I will do my best for the people that live in Seaford North. It’s felt really good this first week to get out and do stuff with and for you: I have some really valuable community events and contributions coming up. Please get in touch if you are struggling with something that I could help with. My email is in my bio.

See you the other side 🧡

This morning I attended a briefing at Seaford Town Council delivered by Jackson Engineering about the Exceat Bridge - a public timeline will be put together so that you can see what's occurring and what's coming up.

Extraordinarily rare humans like Pat White are the lifeblood of our communities and I have just heard that she passed away today.

I volunteered in the music department at Seaford Head School under Pat’s indomitable supervision when I first arrived in town. It took me all of one hour to understand the impact Pat was making and had made to thousands of the residents, as their school teacher, orchestra leader, event facilitator and general inspiration. Her commitment to nurturing the youth through music was inspirational and something I value in the highest sense.

I do hope the town can create something lasting in tribute to her and to stand testament to the legacy of what extraordinary people can achieve.

Pat White was one of a kind and I have no doubt will be remembered forever. There will be a lot of truly devastated ex-students and their parents in Seaford today. Lots of love to you all.

Tomorrow I officially begin my role as Councillor for Seaford North.

This first week will be spent getting to know my fellow councillors, completing inductions and appointments, and learning more about the active committees across the council — what they cover, how they serve our community, and where I can contribute most effectively.

I’m especially grateful to be starting this journey alongside Cllr Carolyn Lambert. I feel very fortunate to have such an experienced and dedicated councillor leading, guiding, and teaching me as I begin this role. I can’t wait to see what we can achieve for Seaford together.
