If anyone gets a ticket like this on their red bin and it’s only because you’ve put glass in it, please drop me a message. Obviously it’s Incorrect because YES you can use the red bin for glass as the leaflet said. The other things do apply however.

They do say no smashed glass but let’s face it, if you’re dropping glass onto glass you’re going to get the odd breakage to be fair.

(Obviously if you’ve placed other things in there like little Johnny’s broken toys or yesterday’s potato peelings you’re on your own!) 😊

Please share this far and wide, and speak to your children. Do Not Swim in Open Water!!!

Too many children and adults have lost their lives in lakes and ponds like Ashby Ville. We don't want anymore tragedies.

Anglian Water works on Alexandra Road due to start today for two days

Had a walk around Ashby this afternoon ending up at Somervell Road Park, it was nice to see plenty of children and adults enjoying the swings and walking their dogs
When I think back how long it took John Collinson, Andrea, myself and the Residents Group at that time to get the park in situ, must of been best part of 7/8 years but now it’s showing all the work and lobbying was worth it

Old Red Bins! UPDATE - it seems that the Saturday and Monday dates given to me were only for Ashby residents.

Apologies to residents in other wards who may be disappointed because of this. I hold my hands up and apologise - I was merely passing on information that I took in good faith. I will update as and when I can, but meantime the advice I've been given is to leave them kerbside and they will be collected at some point.

Should be collected on either Saturday (11 April) or Monday (13 April) for Ashby residents, so please make sure they're kerbside for collection. If they're not removed by this date please leave them kerbside and we are assured they will be collected asap.

Any problems, drop me a message or email [email protected]

You may keep your old bin to use for personal storage, however old red bins will not be collected along with your new one as part of your waste collection cycle.

In case you haven't seen this, if your old red bin hasn't been collected by the end of next week give the number in the post a call or drop us a message.

Our team will be out and about in Barrow, New Holland, Belton, Scunthorpe and Bottesford collecting old burgundy bins next week (from Monday 16 March). Please leave your empty bin outside for us to pick up.

If you live in these areas and your old bin hasn’t been picked up by the end of next week give us a call on 01724 297000.

Collections of old burgundy bins will continue across North Lincolnshire over the coming weeks.

Teams will be out delivering new burgundy bins in Crowle, tomorrow, Saturday 14 March and in Barrow, Belton, Scunthorpe and Bottesford next week.

When you have your new bin:

✅ Keep using your current burgundy bin until your next collection day.
✅ Put it out one last time to be emptied.
✅ After it has been emptied, leave it empty and visible so our crews can collect it.
✅ You can then start using your new, larger burgundy bin for plastic and cardboard.

Keep an eye on our page or visit our website to find out when collections and deliveries are happening in your area 👇
