The Musham Bank/Olivers Mount situation is not what anybody wants. This weekend will be the last weekend this year that closures are in place. Here is a video I did outlining the situation 👇

Overdale Park:

A few people have been in touch with me regarding the state of Overdale Park. For clarification this is the existing children’s park at the top end of Overdale.

Eastfield Town Council had allocated £64,000 to put additional pieces of equipment on parks. After some discussion it was then decided that it would be reallocated to upgrade the Overdale Park. But a full upgrade would require more funding.

In terms of that funding Eastfield Town Council is having various discussions, all of which are reasonable positive. It is hoped (not guaranteed) that work would begin in spring of next year. Although from personal experience this may be ambitious due to the amount of red tape involved.

Someone has FOI’d my emails about Homemore. 👀

Who could it be?

Could it possibly be Homemore themselves, the people who put a Standards complaint in to the Council about me publishing emails released under the Freedom of Information Act?

Part of the request relates to the Standards complaint from Homemore. In theory they as the complainant, a small number of Council officers and myself are the only ones who knew about the complaint. 🤷‍♂️

Who knows, it’s a real whodunnit…

The Labour leader of Redcar council has been FORCED to BACK DOWN after opening a book of condolences for all seven A66 victims, including the five hooligans who killed two serving police officers.

After HUGE backlash in his Facebook comments from locals he said it will now just be for the two dead police officers.

Yesterday we had a visit from Jo Coles the Deputy Mayor for Police, Fire & Crime.

We had a productive chat as we walked around Eastfield. I raised specifically the off-road bike situation and youth crime.

In summary Eastfield Town Council has offered funding for a police drone, which should be up and running soon.

I also pushed for more accountability towards parents for behaviour of their children. Parenting orders were discussed and the options available working with partner organisations.

On a more positive not we did meet Stephen from the Community shop and called into The Aska Hub C.I.C too. Both fantastic community organisations.

Appeal following a four-vehicle road traffic collision in Scarborough ⬇️

It happened at 8:30am this morning (27 August) on the B1249 at the top of Staxton Hill between Fordon Lane and North Cotes Road.

The incident involved four vehicles, including an orange Kia Ceed, a blue Ford Focus, a dark grey Ford Ranger and an orange Ford Ranger.

Four occupants were taken to hospital for minor injuries following the collision, where they are currently receiving treatment. A man has since been arrested following the incident.

The road was closed for a number of hours while we investigated the scene and to allow the vehicles involved to be recovered.

We are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who witnessed the collision, anyone who may have seen the vehicles prior to the collision, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage.

We are also appealing for any information regarding the orange Ford Ranger and any sightings of this particular vehicle prior to the collision, it is believed to have been heading north from Foxholes towards Scarborough.
