We don’t usually recommend individual books but since this is by an author so local that he used to be the Headteacher of Scalby School, here it is! You can borrow this excellent read (see what I did there?) from your local library!

It’s so we’d like to say a massive thanks to our trusty group of over 50 volunteers who run our library, not just as library assistants but as home library drivers, cleaners, gardeners and odd-job men! Even a trustee’s husband lends a hand - here’s Nigel putting a new seat in the public toilet!

We’ve just received some great book donations including 4 by authors appearing at , a whole set of Robert Galbraith’s Strike novels, Conclave by Robert Harris & 3 of LJ Ross’ popular Northumberland mysteries. These & many others are on sale just inside the library entrance in aid of library funds.
