Hello to you all for the final time.

This account will be closing soon as we will no longer exist.

From midnight the new North Yorkshire Council will run services across our great county.

We just wanted to thank all our residents, businesses, and followers for all your support over the years.

Whether it was to tell us about something we'd done well or maybe something not so well, we always appreciated hearing from you.

Good morning to you all on this, the final day of Scarborough Borough Council 😥

But fear not! From tomorrow the new North Yorkshire Council will be born to provide all the services you currently receive from ourselves and the county council 😀

So, let's take a moment to look back on what was said when we were formed 49 years ago and some of what's been achieved in the last 12 months.

It's almost time to welcome back the Filey International Food Festival🌮🥐🍾

There will be the usual mouthwatering selection of food and drink stalls selling produce and goods from here on our doorstep and also from across the globe.

The long Easter weekend is just around the corner.

The four-day break means there will be some changes to our bin rounds as our hard-working teams have some downtime.

Collection rounds will take place on Good Friday (7 April) as usual but in the week commencing Monday 10 April, they will take place one day later.

We’ve updated our online bin collection calendar on our website to reflect these changes so you can check when your bin will be emptied.

🎉Today, we officially marked the completion of the £7.158m scheme to restore the much-loved South Cliff Gardens in Scarborough.

The restoration has preserved the gardens’ unique heritage and improved them in a way that will reconnect them with today’s residents and visitors, in the same way the original gardens did more than 100 years ago.

A fantastic new free family fun event is coming to Peasholm Park - Scarborough

Head down on Wednesday 5 April, for a spring-themed woodland trail, storytelling, flower potting, nature crafts, face painting, and walkabout act Treemendous!

There will also be local food, charity and sweet stalls to browse while you're enjoying all the activities 🍬🌭🥨
