There's so much happening at Coble Market this Sunday (10am–3pm)

☕ Grab a coffee from The Little Coffee Cart 🥐 Treat yourself to a Pastel de Nata or traditional Portuguese goodies from The Portuguese Bakery 🍰 Pick up delicious bakes from Bellflower Bakes 🍦 Wander down to Crema e Cioccolato for ice cream, coffee and sweet treats 🍴

And don't forget to head below decks into the Market Vaults, where you'll find a fascinating programme of art, heritage and creative installations, including:

🥐🇵🇹 Foodies, you're going to want to make a beeline for this stall at the next Coble Market...

Joining us for a stall outside on Sunday 14th June is Helena from The Portuguese Bakery, one of the fantastic independent businesses based inside Scarborough Market Hall (formerly The Daily Pantry), bringing a delicious taste of Portugal to Scarborough's Old Town. 🇵🇹

Expect freshly baked treats, including her famous Pastéis de Nata, traditional almond cake, homemade sausage rolls, savoury quiches and delicious Bifanas, a traditional Portuguese sandwich packed with flavour and a popular breakfast and street food favourite across Portugal.

Known for her incredible baking and authentic Portuguese flavours, Helena has quickly become a favourite with Market Hall visitors, and now you'll be able to find even more of her delicious creations at Coble Market.

Whether you're already a fan of Portuguese cuisine or looking to try something new, this is one stall you won't want to miss! 😋

We're bringing another fantastic day of creativity, live music, workshops and community spirit to Scarborough's Old Town, with plenty to see, do and enjoy throughout the day.

Creative Workshops:

🌀 Throughout the day, Lara the Hypnotist will be offering friendly and fascinating comedy street hypnosis demonstrations. Not at all what you might expect, it's a gentle and engaging way to stop, chat and experience something a little different. Lara will also be performing her full show at The Shakespeare later that evening as part of the Scarborough Fair fringe festival. 7.45pm

📖 DEAR DIARY... Presented by National Literacy Trust Yorkshire Coast in association with Crescent Arts and Scarborough Studios.

Work with artists to:
✨ Create characters inspired by Diary of a Wimpy Kid and The Extremely Embarrassing Life of Lottie Brooks
✨ Create your own diary entries
✨ Take home your artwork and a FREE book.

Through art, storytelling and playful prompts, these sessions help build confidence in writing and self-expression.

We're excited to shine a spotlight on two fantastic new independent businesses that have recently opened their doors in the Market Vaults, Scarborough!

Stampy's offers a colourful range of tie-dye clothing, glow-in-the-dark accessories, unique gifts, artwork and handmade creations. If you're looking for something a little different, this vibrant new shop is definitely worth discovering.

Handcrafted by Michelle Michelle's beautiful new shop specialises in handmade and personalised gifts and cards, including diamond art, Cricut creations, sublimation products and resin gifts. Many items are made on-site, with new stock being added regularly.

🎡 Shakespeare Gallery “Marvels: The Carnival Is Over” as part of Big Ideas By The Beach runs from 16th–30th May Friday/Saturday/Sunday at The Shakespeare Gallery.

🎨 The Glass Box Local illustrator Hannah Grahamslaw is exhibiting at The Glass Box from 12th May–1st June, featuring her beautiful Yorkshire-inspired artwork, prints, pennants and designs celebrating Scarborough, Whitby, the North York Moors and beyond 🌊

🖼️ OPO – Old Parcels Office “Aftermath” is running from 15th–31st May at OPO Artspace, open Thursday–Sunday, 11am–4pm. A striking exhibition exploring coastal and industrial landscapes through atmospheric artwork.

🌿 No.49 The Ink Jar by Tracy Knorn is on at No.49 from 19th May–1st June, showcasing natural watercolour paints and original art.

🎪 Scarborough Streets Festival And don’t forget — Scarborough Streets returns from 29th–31st May with an incredible programme of FREE performances, music, theatre, dance, workshops, circus acts, magic, family entertainment and street performances happening across the town centre! Expect everything from Victorian barrel organs and hula hoop workshops to live music, DJs, circus skills and community parades 🎭

🐝 It’s World Bee Day! 🍯

Did you know there’s a fantastic bee-inspired shop tucked away on the Mezzanine level of Scarborough Market Hall?

The Honeycomb Shop is packed full of locally produced Yorkshire honey, handmade bee-related gifts, beeswax candles, jewellery, natural health products and so much more 🐝

One of the most fascinating features of the shop is its live observation beehive, where visitors can watch honey bees at work and learn more about the incredible process behind honey and bee products. It’s a brilliant experience for both adults and children and something truly unique to discover in the heart of the Market Hall.

From locally sourced honey to unique handmade gifts, it’s well worth heading up to the upper level and having a browse next time you visit 🍯
