Today Cadets and Staff from the Squadron took part in Essex Wing’s Parade to commemorate 85 years of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets. They were joined by 346 personnel from the Wing as they marched along Brentwood high street concluding with a service at the Cathedral.

We had the pleasure of enrolling four new cadets to our Squadron. Over the past few months they have learnt basic drill, RAF and RAFAC History and what it means to be an Air Cadet and they are now fully fledged members of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets.

A massive thank you to the Mayor of Sawbridgeworth, Councillor Pagdades. We were nominated as one of the Mayor’s charities where the council would help fundraise. Last week we were invited to Sawbridgeworth’s Awards Evening where the manor announced that they had raised an astonishing £2,526!

This money goes a really long way to helping us grow as a squadron and deliver even better experiences for the teenagers of Sawbridgeworth, and we are incredibly grateful.

Last Thursday the Mayor also toured our squadron, getting to see what we do whilst the cadets were testing their general knowledge in an inter-flight quiz.

A huge congratulations to Pilot Officer Lloyd, who recently passed his Combined Initial Course at RAF Cranwell!🛩️

The five-day course sets the standard for new RAFAC officers and SNCOs, developing leadership and management skills and vital safeguarding training whilst also brushing up on drill skills.

Plt Off Lloyd will now bring these skills home to continue as a Commissioned Officer at 309, helping to lead our Squadron on parade nights and activities. We are lucky to have him on the squadron and look forward to seeing him develop into the role!🌟
