Mayor of Sawbridgeworth’s Christmas Card & Calendar Photo Competition is now open for entries.

It may be 30 degrees outside, but I am delighted to launch my Christmas Card & Calendar Photo Competition, as part of my continued fundraising efforts for Sawbridgeworth Community First Responders

This is your chance to have one of your photos featured on a Sawbridgeworth Christmas card and/or calendar!

For the Christmas cards, we are looking for wintry and festive scenes of Sawbridgeworth - think Pishiobury Park in the snow, or the lights on Bell Street.

For the Calendar, we are looking for scenes from across Sawbridgeworth throughout the year.

To enter, complete your details at: https://forms.gle/LrPKqYC1ttWFZ9di7 and then email your image(s) to: [email protected]. Or you can submit your name, email, phone number and image all via email to that address.

This competition is open to all Sawbridgeworth residents, workers and visitors of all ages. If you have a great photo of Sawbo, we want to see it!

Last week, it was a pleasure to join the Mayor of Sawbridgeworth, Cllr Angus Parsad-Wyatt, in meeting with the careers team at Leventhorpe School to discuss how the Town Council can continue supporting the work taking place with students.

Last year, during my time as Mayor, we launched the Youth Community Initiative to encourage more young people to get involved in volunteering and community leadership. It was great to discuss how this partnership can continue for the next academic year, alongside other opportunities to strengthen links between the school, Sawbridgeworth Town Council and the wider community.

Thank you to Angus for his commitment to continuing this important relationship, and to Jane, Ludmila and the wider team at Leventhorpe for their continued enthusiasm and partnership.

On Saturday 18th July the Deputy Mayor of Sawbridgeworth, Cllr John Rider attended the Repair Cafe in Sawbridgeworth to celebrate its 4th birthday 🥳

Congratulations to Repair Cafe Sawbridgeworth on celebrating their 4th birthday on Saturday 🥳

The team of volunteers do a great job to fix, mend and extend the life of a variety of household items, and stop them from going to landfill.

Thank you to our Deputy Mayor, Cllr John Rider, for attending the cafe, alongside our MP Josh Dean MP.

Come and celebrate four wonderful years of repairing, reusing and bringing our community together.

🕑 2pm – 5pm (last entry at 4.15pm)
📍 Bullfields Centre, Cutforth Road, Sawbridgeworth

To mark our birthday, we're making it as easy as possible for everyone to join us, so there is not need to book.

Simply bring along your broken or well-loved item, and enjoy a slice of birthday cake while we do our best to help.
