Home Instead East Herts and Uttlesford - Home Care & Live-In Care

Home Instead East Herts and Uttlesford - Home Care & Live-In Care We can also provide valuable staff assistance during busy times of the day or when staffing levels require some external support.

We provide Home Care, Live-in Care, Dementia Care, and other help around the home to support the people of East Hertfordshire and Uttlesford surrounding areas to live safely in the comfort of their own homes. Providing a wide range of services across the community

Many of our at-home clients receive Home Instead care as a result of a direct approach to us by their families, but we also have stron

g links with medical practices, social agencies, and charities, which utilise our comprehensive services or recommend them to their clients. Much of our work involves liaisons with care homes and independent living centers providing individual residents with a higher level of care when extra help is needed. Whilst our principal services involve the day-to-day care of older people in their own homes (and in care homes), we also provide a range of specialist services, which include Alzheimer's and dementia care, convalescence care - and respite care, for families who need a break from day-to-day caring duties. Our services are also applicable to those with learning and physical disabilities - and we are able to provide comprehensive, specialised home care for individuals who face these challenges. Again, we are approached directly by the families of those with special needs, plus we also work with medical and social agencies, charities, and care groups.

Reliability means more than arriving on time.

For a Care Professional, reliability is part of building trust.

It means turning up when expected, communicating clearly, respecting routines, and noticing when something feels different. It means understanding that a visit may be one of the most important parts of someone’s day.

Small acts of consistency can help an older person feel settled and supported.

That is why reliability is such an important quality in care.

If you are dependable, thoughtful, and calm, a Care Professional role could suit you.

A fantastic opportunity to learn, share experiences, and strengthen our understanding of how we can provide more inclusive, person-centred support for everyone we work with. Thank you to everyone who took part and made the session such a success.

Feeling unsure about care is common.

Families often have questions before they know what they need.

Is now the right time? How much support would be enough? What will it cost? Will Mum or Dad accept help? Can visits work around existing routines?

You do not need every answer before having a conversation. Gathering information can help your family feel calmer, clearer, and better prepared.

Care decisions should move at a pace that respects the person receiving support.

Start with a conversation, not a commitment.

Warmer June days can affect older adults in small but important ways.

A few practical changes can help your parent feel more comfortable at home, from keeping drinks close by to planning outings at cooler times of day. It is also worth checking whether meals, medication routines, clothing, and room temperature still feel manageable.

If the warmer weather is making everyday routines harder, extra support at home may help.

Save this guide for June and share it with family members.
