Sandringham Estate

Sandringham Estate Sandringham Estate is the much-loved country retreat of The British Royal Family and has been the private home of British Monarchs since 1862.

The house, set in 24 hectares of stunning gardens, is perhaps the most famous stately home in Norfolk

We’ve had the pleasure of meeting some gorgeous dogs this month, starting with the fabulous standard poodles — Finn, Storm and Sasha.

Then we met Rosie who has a rather lovely daily routine… a puppuccino every day!

And finally, we came across a wonderful Basset Hound meetup group, who were enjoying a weekend of socialising in Norfolk!

We’re looking forward to meeting more of our four-legged visitors next month!

Sometimes, it’s all about looking at things differently.

A collection of reflections from around Sandringham, each offering a slightly different view of familiar surroundings.

There’s something beautiful about these unexpected perspectives. A glimpse of a room, a landscape, a moment or a little detail, reflected back in a way you might not normally see it.

As the days begin to shift and the seasons slowly change, these are the small moments we notice most.

A little collection of Sandringham, reflected.

What happens when The King offers you a wheat field at Sandringham? 🌾

Our millinery graduate Emily, who was part of the first cohort of The CHANEL & The King’s Foundation Métiers d’Art Millinery Fellowship in Partnership with Le19M, has been finding out.

Emily specialises in the endangered heritage skill of straw hat plaiting, which used to be a backbone of the British hat industry. The special type of straw needed for this craft, Maris Widgeon, is extremely difficult to source. After speaking to His Majesty about this challenge at Highgrove in February 2024, The King set aside a field on the Sandringham Estate for Emily to grow the straw on.

Harvested this summer using heritage methods, the straw will be used to make a special collection of hats to be sold in aid of The King’s Foundation. Learn more about the project from Emily here, and keep an eye out for updates on this exciting project 👀
