Just been sent some pictures from the hedge me and Daisy planted over winter. It has greened up nice. Even when you are used to it, it's hard to imagine a hedge when it looks like you are planting twigs

Some domestic jobs that have kept me busy the past couple of weeks, both have been neglected for a long time (past management, not the current owners), leaving usable material in short supply. Non the less, the hedges have been layed and gaps planted up with suitable native species. I have limited availability for a couple of similar jobs before the end of march. Note: only 1 job shown, the pictures of the other have vanished from my phone😞

Phase 1 of planting a long stretch of hedgerow through a field. Hard going in places with heavy clay, thankfully my daughter Daisy was on hand to help and couldn't have got the first 240m done without her! The gaps was for hawthorn (crataegus monogyna) plants, now filled.

Hedgerow completed. 300 (ish) meters of hornbeam. Made a great change from the usual thorns. Made even easier in beautiful surroundings and facilities. I still have some free time for late season, mid Feb to end of march if anyone would like a shorter hedge to be brought back into management.

Visited an hedge I layed last year. The regrowth is looking fantastic.

Couldn't help myself but stop and look at a previous hedge. This was done in 2021. The fencing is in place as the land is being developed. Fortunately the land owner kept the hedge instead of taking the conventional option and installing a fence.

Last job of the season, a continuation of the same hedge from a previous day. Always seems to rain on me here. Time to sharpen and oil the tools ready for summer storage.
