Get yourselves down to Wheelock for the bonfire at Sandbach cricket club. I’ve popped in briefly before heading to the Sandbach choral society at St Peter’s church hall (7:30 for anyone who would prefer something inside!)

The fire is due to be lit at 6pm so head down for fun galore. There’s hot and cold drinks, yummy food, fairground rides and everything you’d expect to help you have a fabulous family evening.

This morning I took a trip to visit the Sandbach Art Club.
If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, why not head down to the Masonic hall for a wonderful exhibition of local artists. You can peruse at your leisure and might pick up a beautiful piece for your home or an early Christmas present perhaps.

Open until 4pm today then 10-4 Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday was a busy day. It started with the ribbon cutting for 3 new units within Sandbach market; Clem’s greengrocers have moved inside so we’ll have fresh fruit and veg in all weathers. Sugar fairy has expanded to give you all more access to beautiful clothing for kids and adults alike. Finally Sue’s created an amazing 50s diner seating area so you can enjoy your brekkie in style next time you stop by!

On my way back to the car I heard the dulcet tones of the Rock choir who were entertaining Cheshire buddies in the park. Both organisations are fabulous, one creating beautiful music and friendships and the other supporting children with additional needs and their families. It was wonderful to chat with them all and see the amazing smiles right across everyone’s faces. What a great partnership!

Last week we held the first, of what I believe will be many, Sandbach Civic awards to celebrate the wonderful volunteers that oil the wheels of Sandbach. Without them the town would be a much dimmer, less vibrant place.
Awards were given to people who have set up and run community groups, who help their neighbours and those who tidy up our town. Keep an eye out for further opportunities to nominate people who go above and beyond as I know this evening only touched the surface when it comes to recognising the hardworking residents of our town.
