An interesting observation ......“I also struggle to justify to residents that the decision maker on this application is the authority that allocated the site in its minerals and waste plan in the first place.” Paul Holmes MP talking to Parliament about a proposed quarry in his area.......sound familiar?

Lancashire County Council ecologist has submitted a response to Harleyford Aggregates' latest submission "Currently the application lacks sufficient information on which to determine the planning application" The ecologist highlights the risk to the Ancient Woodland and several species and ponds that have not been identified by the applicant. Harleyford has shown no regard for the protection of this area, abundant with wildlife including badgers, otters, common toads, brown hares, bats and great crested newts. LCC MUST now REJECT this application. After all, Harleyford has had 3 years to address these concerns.

Harleyford Aggregates have provided a further response to consultee objections. It's the usual poor quality document. If they can't even format a word document what hope is there 😳 when will this application be rejected Lancashire County Council?

Well done South Ribble Borough Council for standing by your original objection to this quarry application. The applicant seems to think that the responses from statutory bodies can simply be dismissed by them. No Harleyford Aggregates, you are supposed to listen and suggest how these objections can be overcome!

Tomorrow is the final date for you to submit your objection to the proposed sand and gravel quarry at Lower Hall Farm, Potters Lane, Samlesbury. Thank you if you have already objected. We need the whole community to get behind this.

LCC Highways say they still have safety concerns about the quarry haul road access to the A59 and that Harleyford have failed to address these. We all know how busy and dangerous the A59 can be so it’s good to know LCC Highways agree. For now another OBJECTION ✅

Another day….. another statutory OBJECTION. Way back in May 2021 Natural England told Harleyford that their application to extract sand and gravel at Lower Hall Farm, Samlesbury did not contain sufficient information and provided a long action list for them. 2 1/2 years later Natural England say nothing has changed, Harleyford haven’t done any of the things asked, so no progress. Not good enough as far as Natural England are concerned. OBJECTION STANDS ✅

We are off the starting block with statutory consultation responses to the Samlesbury quarry application. Very solid OBJECTION to the proposal from the LEAD LOCAL FLOOD AUTHORITY. Read their concerns in the link below ✅
