The origianal Hoist that the people of Saltburn would use to get down to the beach and pier. This was opened in opened in 1870 and was then closed in 1873 after being deemed unsafe by the Middlesbrough Estate. For it to be replaced by the still running today Saltburn Cliff Lift.

The Elcectric Motor that drives the water back up to the Top tank under the Paved viewing Area near the Top Station. This Pump was installed in 1924 and made by Brooke Motors. The pump steps up through three stages and when running at full speed can move 180 gallons of water a minute which translates down to three a second.
