Where problems are great and poverty extreme, the challenge can feel overwhelming. EdUKaid seeks to take small, sustainable steps, encouraging the people we are trying to help to overcome and find solutions to these issues. In this way our progress is authentic, integrated and provides the best way forward. Put simply, our goals are to:

Engage the communities we work with, head teachers, parents and children
Research projects and pilot them
Work within local government and education structures to complement their aims
Facilitate networking and collaboration across schools
Empower local people
Implement simple changes that can have a lasting impact

The following are activities which take place at our EdUKaid Community Centre.

Every lesson and every effort brings our learners one step closer to their dreams, through extra tuition EdUKaid is helping children strengthen their knowledge, build confidence and believe in their potential.

At EdUKaid Community Centre, community members find opportunities to learn through reading books in the library. This develops skills, reveals talents and builds hope for a better future. Together we are turning opportunities into lasting change.

Mwanahija attended pre form one studies and took extra tuition classes at an EdUKaid community centre on her educational journey. Her success and dedication at school enabled her to study for her bachelor degree in Accounting and Transport Finance at National Institute of Transport (NIT).

As Mwanahija continues her university journey, we celebrate not only her success but also the hope she brings to every young person. Every great journey begins with a single step, and every opportunity given to a child has the potential to transform a life.

Melina is a mother of two daughters in rural Tanzania. She left secondary school at 18 when she became pregnant. Years of hardship followed — raising her girls alone, relying on transactional relationships just to cover basic needs.
Then she joined the EduKaid Sustainable Skills Project. She learned soap making. She sold to neighbours and made enough to save and bought her daughters school supplies herself, for the first time.
She went on to become a trainer — teaching other women at International Women's Day events. She built a network. Her income grew. And her daughters stayed in school.
Melina's story is about what happens when the right support reaches the right person. And it's why EdUKaid's work — led by people who are part of these communities — matters so much.

She knows the schools, the families, the challenges — and the possibilities. Now, as we start the transfer of leadership, Bintially and her colleagues will continue to shape the future of education for tens of thousands of children with the added knowledge that they can respond more quickly and find more lasting solutions than ever before.
