📣 A Special Visit from the Mayor of Salisbury!

On Monday, we were very lucky to welcome the Mayor of Salisbury, Mr John Wells, to our school! He was joined by the Mayoress of Salisbury – our very own Mrs Wells. Mr Wells spoke to the children about his important role as Mayor, explaining the meaning behind his chain and gown, and sharing insights into how democracy works in our community.

The children were fascinated and asked some fantastic questions — a big thank you to Mr and Mrs Wells for visiting and inspiring our pupils! 💫

Mr Wells is supporting Alabaré during his Mayoral year. This Sunday, Mr Wells, Mrs Wells, Mr Smith, and Mrs Job will be running the Wimborne 10-mile race to raise money for Alabaré — we wish them all the very best! 👏

Today we came together for a very special Remembrance Worship.
As part of our Downton tradition, each child has made a poppy in school over the past week, and these were laid during our time of reflection and remembrance. 🌺

Our Worship Council led us beautifully, sharing prayers they had written themselves to help us all remember and give thanks for those who have served and sacrificed.

We are so proud of our children for the thought, care, and respect they showed throughout. ❤️

🌟 Building Friendships Across the Years! 🌟
Our Year 6 children have been spending some special time with the newest members of our school recently — and what a joy it’s been! 💛
Through our buddy system, our older pupils take on the role of friendly guides and role models, helping our younger children settle in, feel confident, and make new friends. It’s a wonderful way for everyone to learn from one another, build connections, and strengthen our caring school community. 💫
We’re so proud of our Year 6 buddies for the kindness, patience, and leadership they show every day! 👏

🌟 Anti-Bullying Week 2025 🌟

Last week, we held our annual Anti-Bullying Week, with the inspiring theme “Power for Good.” 💪✨

Throughout the week, our children took part in a variety of activities and learning experiences that helped them understand how their actions can make a positive difference to others. 💙

We also celebrated Odd Socks Day 🧦 — a fun reminder that being different is what makes us all unique! To round off the week, pupils participated in an engaging Anti-Bullying Workshop, helping them explore kindness, respect, and the importance of standing up for one another.
