👻Swipe or click to see how our animals have been joining in with the Halloween fun. Some like our wallabies only have good sides when it comes to having their pictures taken, however our native rare-breed Soay sheep always look like they've seen a ghost!

🐐Meet our new "Old English Goats" Bess and Alice!

At Eccles College Animal Park we are committed to the education of our students as well as working with hard-working conservation organisations, such as the Rare Breeds Survival Trust

We have used their Priority breeds watchlist to select this native breed goat which is under threat and described as "not deterred from foraging by poor weather". What better goat to be adapted to the Manchester Climate?!🐝🌦

🐠Continuing National Marine Week, Did you know some fish emojis on your phone are based on real fish? The Powder Blue Tang (Acanthurus leucosternon) is a species of surgeonfish and a common emoji you may see!

👩‍⚕️At Eccles College Animal Park we have the cousin of this surgeonfish who needs no picture, this is the Royal Blue Tang, also known as Dory from finding nemo!

🐠It's National Marine Week! At Eccles Sixth Form College our animal park has 3 major water systems (Salt , Cold, Tropical) with a range of common and uncommonly kept species including coral.

🦀This allows our students to gain a strong portfolio of experience if this is something they choose to pursue!

🚜The Eccles College Animal Park team visited the Royal Lancashire Agricultural Show this past Sunday 20th July, to connect with the local farming community and support the Rare Breeds Survival Trust objectives by showing our Native Rare Breed Soay sheep and Portland Sheep!

🐑Whilst we did not place, the team had a great time engaging with the community and especially talking to the breeders of the Portland Sheep and The Soay Sheep. We did however, manage to score a special mention for our first time showing sheep!

⭐One of Salford City College's strategic objectives is "External engagement"; to develop our courses, maintain industry relevance and engage with the communities around us, We feel we achieved this!
