Safer St.Helens - Our Story

We are small team within St.Helens Council called ‘Safer Communities’ who together with a number of representatives from the St.Helens local policing team, council, the fire service, probation services, health services and registered social landlords, develop and implement strategies to protect residents from crime and to help people feel safe.

Together, we form the St.Helens Community Safety Partnership (CSP), otherwise known as Safer St.Helens. We regularly meet with residents and agencies to identify and deal with issues in local neighbourhoods including anti-social behaviour (asb), vehicle theft, drug or alcohol abuse, burglary, vehicle theft, domestic violence, hate crime and re-offending.

We offer a programme of annual campaigns to raise awareness of problems affecting St.Helens residents – and with our partners, have tools and powers available to tackle anti-social behaviour and neighbourhood nuisance. You can find out more information about what we have been doing to tackle crime and asb in St.Helens since we were established in 1998, on our Safer St.Helens website: www.safersthelens.org.uk

We are also on hand to offer advice, direct you to appropriate local support services and give you the best approach to report any type of crime you, or someone you know, may be dealing with in St.Helens.
