💥 The L118 Light Gun is still evolving.

A recent upgrade to the Automatic Pointing System has improved navigation, targeting and security, helping gun detachments get rounds on target faster and with greater accuracy.

For Reservists in 103 Regiment Royal Artillery, it means training on equipment that continues to develop alongside the soldiers who use it.

Whether your background is in engineering, IT, logistics or practical problem-solving, there's a place for you on the gun line.

You could gain new skills, work as part of a close team and operate one of the Army's most recognised artillery systems, all alongside your civilian career.

You don’t need to be fit to join. You need to start.

One of the biggest things we hear is:
“I want to join, but I need to get fitter first.”

Good. That’s exactly where you should be.

Over the next 8 weeks, every Wednesday, we’re giving you one simple workout taken straight from the programme used to prepare recruits for selection.

No gym needed.
No fancy kit.
Just you, a bit of space, and the decision to begin.

These are the same movements gun detachments use on the L118 Light Gun position. Carries. Lunges. Planks. Press ups. Running.

By the end of the 8 weeks, you’ll know exactly where you stand.

Workout Wednesday starts next week💪

Save this. You’ll want to follow along.

Pushing beyond the comfort zone on Ex GREAT GLEN 26 🌊

Members of 103rd Regiment Royal Artillery are currently taking part in Ex GREAT GLEN 26 across the Scottish Highlands. From canoeing on Loch Ness to mountain biking and summer mountaineering, the expedition is built to test resilience, teamwork and leadership in demanding terrain.

This isn’t just about adventure. It’s about building confidence, developing communication skills and learning to work together under pressure. Skills that matter on exercise, on operations and back in civilian life.

Whether you’re in a canoe, on the hills or part of a gun detachment, you quickly learn that nobody does it alone.

Think you could take on the challenge alongside your current job or studies?

Gunners who served in Afghanistan – this one’s for you.

If you deployed on Op HERRICK, TORAL or PITTING, you were part of something few people will ever fully understand.

Long patrols. Gun lines. Dust, heat, and the people beside you who made it through the hard days.

A new Royal Artillery Afghanistan Veterans community is forming to bring Gunners back together. The aim is simple. Stay connected with the people who shared that experience and keep the bond going long after the tour ended.

The first event will be an Act of Remembrance and Service this June. It’s a chance to meet up again, reflect on those we served with, and reconnect with the wider Gunner family.

If you were there, you’re part of it.
