They've arrived!!

Our new Anti - Dog Fouling Signs have just arrived.

We would like to say a massive thank you to all the residents who have contacted us to help support our Anti-Dog Fouling Campaign.
We'll be rolling out our ‘Keep Britain Tidy – We’re watching you!’ signs at the recommended hot spots over the few few weeks. The dog waste dispensers are to follow soon.

It is hoped that these combined measures will help improve the current state of our footpaths, streets and open spaces encouraging all dog owners to take responsibility for their pet’s waste.

UPDATE - Today it appears someone has reversed into the chain ripping the mount off the wall! Another repair on the job list for our busy Maintenance Team 😞

🚫 Hall Road, Cemetery - No Parking 🚫

Last year the Parish Council installed a bollard and chain at the entrance to the Cemetery on Hall Road in a bid to prevent people blocking access to the Cemetery. Unfortunately this measure does not appear to have resolved the issue.

We appreciate that lack of parking is an ongoing issue within the village and at busy times such as school drop off/pick up it is particularly difficult. However access to the Cemetery is required at all times by our maintenance team, contractors and most importantly for funeral services.

We are consistently seeing cars parked on the pavement not only blocking the main gates but also the side entrance that provides disable access.

We kindly ask residents and visitors to be more mindful and not park in front of the Cemetery.

📊 Traffic Monitoring Update – Hendra Road (Bottom at Pole 5)

The Parish Council recently monitored vehicle speeds at the bottom of Hendra Road (20 mph) using our mobile speed sign.

✅ Over 72,000 vehicle movements recorded
✅ Most drivers are travelling at or close to the 20 mph limit
✅ Average speeds remain around 19–20 mph
✅ Only a small minority exceed 30 mph

While the overall picture is positive, a few higher speeds were recorded (up to 51 mph), so we will continue to monitor and promote road safety.

Thank you to everyone helping keep our roads safe 🚗👍

🚫 Zero Tolerance 🚫

St Dennis Parish Council is committed to serving our community with professionalism, courtesy, and integrity.

We would like to remind residents and visitors that the Council operates a zero tolerance policy towards any form of abuse, harassment, intimidation, or aggressive behaviour directed at our staff or councillors.

Our team works hard to support the Parish and deliver essential services. Abuse, physical or verbal, of staff is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Where necessary, incidents may be reported to the relevant authorities.

We respectfully ask everyone who engages with the Parish Council to communicate with us in a considerate manner.

We are disappointed to report that there have been numerous incidents of anti-social behaviour in the Playing Field over the weekend.

These have ranged from:

⚠️Unauthorised motorised vehicles entering the field posing a danger to other users including young children using the Skate Park.

⚠️Verbal abuse aimed at our staff.

⚠️Plus, graffiti on the teen shelter, damage to the outdoor gym sign and damage to a bench and picnic table.

Our CCTV is currently being reviewed, and all incidents have been reported to the police.

The Playing Field Trust and Parish Council would like to remind all residents and visitors that abuse of our staff of any kind will not be tolerated. Motorised vehicles including e-bikes and e -scooters are no permitted onto the Playing Field as they are a hazard to other Playing Field and play park users. Malicious damage to equipment and property is not acceptable.

Our team work incredibly hard to provide a clean and safe recreation area for everyone. It is extremely disappointing when a few individuals spoil our community spaces with irresponsible and disrespectable behaviour.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the vast majority of our residents who look after and take pride in our village.

If you witnessed any of these incidents take place from Friday 29th of May onwards or have any further information, please do contact the Parish Council office or report directly to the police. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
