Today marks the end of the peak season for our lifeguards here in North Pembrokeshire.

As of today at 6pm, we will only be patrolling at Whitesands on Saturdays and Sundays up until October half term.

If you’re visiting the coast during the autumn and winter months, remember to:
- Always carry a mobile phone
- Check the weather and tide times
- If you get into trouble in the water, Float to Live
- If you see anyone else in trouble, phone 999 or 112 and ask for the coastguard, encourage them to float on their back and throw something that floats to assist until help arrives.

Another great season done! If you’re planning a dip in the coming weeks, come to Whitesands on the weekend and we’ll keep an eye on you 🫡

Last night we celebrated the end of peak season with our awards ceremony.

Awards are as follows:

Rookie of the year: Megan Harries

Grade 1 of the year: Josh Barrett

Grade 2 of the year: Grace Stoddart

Grade 3 of the year: Finn Jones

Senior of the year: Elen Hill

First aid of the year: Evan Curtis and Fiona Campbell

Rescue of the year: Cai Owen and Jake Rogers

Lifeguards lifeguard: Tom Rogers

Lifeguard of the year: Jago Sime

After an active season with multiple heatwaves and busy beaches, the team have been exceptional keeping people safe on the coast this summer. A big congratulations to everyone for their hard work and fantastic standard of lifeguarding.

Also a big thank you to our supervisors this season, Matty and Margot for their continued support!

We are still patrolling at all our lifeguard beaches until this Sunday (6th September).

After Sunday, we are still patrolling on weekends at Whitesands beach 10-6pm. Swing by if you’re planning a dip!

Remember to stay safe on the coast and if you find yourself in difficult Float to Live. If you see anyone in difficulty in the water, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

North Pembrokeshire Lifeguards Aquathon 2026 🌊

Last night, a group of our lifeguards ran from Broad Haven lifeguard unit to Little Haven point and then swam back.

Well done to all who took part, including Michael Bool from Little Haven Lifeboat crew who came second!

We’ve been forced to red flag a number of beaches today due to thick sea mist.

Poor visibility means we can’t see you and therefore don’t know you need help if you get into trouble in the water.

Please keep this in mind if you’re planning a dip this evening, we’d recommend saving it for when the sky has cleared and people can see you.
