Main Street re-surfacing. The re-surfacing with a low-noise tarmac is now complete, apart from a small section on either side of the railway crossing, which will be attended to later in the year. At the same time the long-standing problems of a collapsed drain on the east side of the crossing will be addressed.
The work has included a comprehensive survey of all the surface water drains which has identified many blocked drains, and in some cases, drains which were just soak-aways, or did not go anywhere. These have been rectified.
There are still sections of pavement where temporary tarmac patches have been installed due to curbs being replaced. These will be made good later in the year.
The station car park has been re-surfaced, and re-lined with bays which are more suitable for the increased size of modern cars. The car park continues to be free-to-use, and this will apply when the extension into adjacent land takes place.

We have removed the dog bag dispensers by the Dandy Walk and Outrigg for maintenance. In the meantime, dog bags are available from the dispensers at the seafront, Sea Mill car park and the top of Sea Mill Lane. Dog bags are also available from St Bees Post Office and Beach Road Bakehouse.

A reminder that this road closure starts tomorrow. United Utilities have advised that access for residents within the closure will be maintained wherever possible, but to factor in extra time for journeys. They have also advised that if residents have specific queries re access, they should speak to the team on site.
