COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER AWARDS
Two parishioners who made a significant contribution to the demanding task of identifying footpath and bridleway signs in need of renewal within a very tight deadline to secure grant funding have been recognised for their efforts.
Chairman John Vine presented Mrs Aberdeen from Trewoon and Mr Tolliday from Polgooth with the Community Volunteer Award at last night’s Parish Assembly. In recognition of their dedication, they were each treated to a meal kindly sponsored by The Polgooth Inn and The White Pyramid, along with a £25.00 donation from the Parish Council to a charity of their choice.
Mr Norman was also recognised for his continued dedication to regular litter picking in Sticker and Trelowth. Unfortunately, he was unable to attend the Parish Assembly due to a recent bereavement.
In recognition of his ongoing efforts and commitment to the community, Mr Norman will receive a meal kindly sponsored by The Hewas Inn, along with a £25.00 donation from the Parish Council to a charity of his choice.

🌿Following the retirement and sad passing of several long-serving members of St Mewan Parish Council, we currently have Parish Councillor vacancies. We are grateful for the dedication shown by those who have served our community over many years. Now, we are looking for residents who would like to help continue that work.

✅The Parish Council is financially stable and able to continue delivering the services it is responsible for and we are seeking committed individuals to help guide and support that ongoing work.

😘If you care about St Mewan Parish covering Sticker with Hewaswater, Polgooth with Trelowth and Trewoon and want to make a positive difference, please consider becoming a Parish Councillor.
You don’t need prior experience, just a willingness to get involved in local decision-making at one meeting a month.
There may not be a physical reward, but helping shape the future of your parish is one of the most meaningful contributions you can make.
🗣️Your voice matters.
If you would like more information, please contact the Clerk on 07464 350837 or email [email protected]. Look forward to hearing from you.

🗣️A BIG THANK YOU TO OUR DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS!
👏We would like to extend a huge thank you to Mrs Dudart, Mr Tolliday, and St Mewan Parish Council Chairman John Vine for generously giving up their time to audit all of our Parish footpaths, bridleways, and stiles. Their hard work and thoroughness have made it possible for the Parish Council to secure much needed funding from Cornwall Council confirmed on the 25th October 25, to renew Parish signage that was in poor condition, or in some cases, even completely removed.
⏳We were up against a tight deadline to submit our application, and we are incredibly grateful to the other residents who also took the time to report poor signage when they noticed it.
🫶Thanks to all your efforts, this project will ensure that our footpaths and bridleways remain well-marked and accessible for everyone to enjoy.
