EOD Support Troop doing what they do best! 💪

An unexploded WW2 bomb was found at a building site in Coventry.

We built HBMS around the bomb to mitigate the explosion and used MACE (Mobile Abrasive Cutting System) to safely remove the fuse. This was the first live use of MACE in the UK!

Thanks to all the other organisations involved for a safe and successful operation. 👏

Last week 3 members of the 33 Engineer Regiment (EOD&S) travelled to Lourdes, France to take part in the International Military Pilgrimage.

The Festival takes part over 3 days and includes military ceremonies, religious celebrations and a torchlight procession, along with sports and other events. It involves tens of thousands of troops from over 40 countries.

It is a chance for those involved to celebrate and reflect on both their faith and their service.

Come and support us!

33 Engineer Regiment (EOD&S) is raising funds for Uttlesford Community Action Network (UCAN) local charity dedicated to reducing loneliness and isolation.

With the support of Saffron Walden Town Council, members of 58 Squadron will take on an impressive Equipment Race. They will move a combined weight of 50 tonnes over 25km, carrying 100kg per shuttle run using logs, equipment, and full battle dress — all for a great cause!

🗺 WHERE? - Saffron Walden Town Centre
⌚️ WHEN? - Saturday 06 June @ 0900

This challenge honours a remarkable feat from 58 Field Squadron’s history: in 1944, during the Burma Campaign, they successfully transported 2,000 men, 200 mules, and 50 tonnes of equipment across the Chindwin River with no losses.

Every donation makes a real difference. Join us in giving back to the Saffron Walden and Uttlesford community that has welcomed us for so long.

Last week members of 58 Field Squadron (EOD&S) deployed to Salisbury Plain for their annual CYCLONE training package.

2 weeks in the field tested their basic soldiering, fieldcraft, command and control, c-UAS drills and specialist Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Search tactics.

They're now returned back to base and getting ready to go out the door again on the final week which will test their Headquarters command and control ability.

Today, members of 33 Engineer Regiment had the privilege of visiting Wimbish Primary Academy.

Opportunities to engage with members of the local community enable us to build links, trust and support and to challenge and inspire the next generation.

A big thank you to the staff and students for the warm welcome and enthusiasm throughout the day. We look forward to continuing to build strong community ties and making a positive impact wherever we serve.

Bomb Disposal in the Arctic 💣🥶

Commando Troop 🗡 from 49 Field Squadron has been braving the extreme conditions of Norway for Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Search drills!

The -35°C temperatures bring significant challenges, testing the team's resolve, equipment, and gear.

This training showcases 33 Engineer Regiment's ability to deploy anywhere, anytime, supporting the British Army and NATO partners in EOD&S.

Members of 49 Field Squadron have recently deployed to Norway to undergo the notorious Commando Cold Weather Warfare Course (CCWWC) alongside 3 Commando Brigade.

This course provides soldiers with the skills necessary to operate in arctic conditions, often reaching temps as low as -30°C! The course focuses on survival and mobility in sub-zero temperatures and includes the infamous ice-breaker drill - intentionally submerging yourself into a freezing lake! 🥶

The course will prepare our troops for a cross NATO partner exercise with the Royal Marines Commandos, Swedish and Norweigan forces. With our focus on light role EOD&S.
