How did Putin get to this point?
Well, he came to power in 1999. Twenty one years later he changed the rules to make himself president for life. [https://www.vox.com/2020/7/2/21311144/putin-russia-vote-president-2036]
Good job that can't happen here, right?! I mean:
Putin is a master manipulator of propaganda and the truth, he lies to his 'electorate'. Boris and the other uk politicians..... Ahhhhh.
Putin is completely unaccountable, a dictator, whereas uk politicians and civil servants are governed by a number of acts of parliament, including the Openness in Local Government Regulations 2014, right?
Yes....., but...., this only works if they agree to play by the rules, or they are held accountable for their actions.
But failure to disclose information about their decisions is illegal, right?
Yes, it is an offence, but only assuming that the police or Local Government Ombudsman are prepared to act, or the taxpayer has the money to take expensive legal action.
Ohhh....? So, why is Mr Peter Holt, the latest UDC Chief Executive refusing to disclose information surrounding three key decisions, taken by unelected Council Officers, that led directly to the council taking a taxpayer's privately owned home of 24-years away from them, BY FORCE?
Why does Mr Holt continue to spend yet more taxpayer's money on expensive solicitors instructed to prevent public disclosure of this information?
These does seem very strange since, public disclosure of these key decisions, and clarification of the process the Officers followed in reaching their decisions, would very easily and quickly prove the taxpayer's 8-years of complaints about maladministration and illegal activity wrong and unfounded, and they'd just go away, right? 🤨
