Public Health Webinar on managing COVID-19 cases in early years and childcare settings – Thursday 2nd July 2020, 19.00-20.00

How would you manage a COVID-19 case in your early years or childcare setting? Join the Public Health webinars for advice on what to do.

On behalf of Public Health England (PHE), Services for Young Children and Public Health, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Councils have arranged two live webinars to explain the action early years and childcare settings should take if a child or member of staff displays coronavirus symptoms or tests positive for COVID-19. At the webinar, there will be information from Public Health colleagues about the process for managing suspected and confirmed COVID-19 cases and the support available. There will also be information about developing your communication strategy in such an event. Questions will be collected during the webinar for response either during the event or afterwards. The webinar will be recorded and will available for those who are unable to attend or for future reference. Please book your place by selecting the event in the below link, please enter the password SFYC

You will have already received the letter to Early Year Providers with a supporting flow chart, which is a summary of the action to take in line with the official government online guidance for early years and childcare settings on dealing with suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19: https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus/education-and-childcare. You may find it helpful to read this information prior to the webinar.

Do you feel like you could be a school governor? Do you own or work in a local business?

We're currently working with Governors for Schools, a national charitable organisation, to highlight the need for school governors in our area. In particular we're looking to encourage businesses and their employees to support local schools by becoming governors.

School governing boards have overall strategic responsibility for their schools, so it's a real chance to make a difference where it counts. Governing Boards are made up of volunteers from the community who are willing to provide the challenge and accountability needed to ensure school improvement and to help develop good educational provision for all children and young people.

If you feel this is something you could do, then why not come along to our information event.

Date: 16 May 2019
Time: 16.00 - 17.00
Venue: Innovation centre, Newport

With over 100 vacancies throughout island schools we need you to make a difference!
