National Volunteers’ Week

This week, we celebrated our amazing volunteers with a picnic at Mottistone Manor, kindly organised by Community Action Isle of Wight.

Our volunteers are at the heart of Appley Tower. Their dedication, enthusiasm and support make it possible for us to keep this much-loved local landmark open to the public. We simply couldn’t do it without them.

As a small thank you, we also offer our volunteers free beach hut hire and get together quarterly to catch up, share updates and celebrate everything they’ve helped us achieve.

If you’ve got just 2.5 hours to spare and would like to join our friendly volunteer team, we’d love to hear from you. Give us a call on 01983 296244 to find out more.

Thank you to all our volunteers for everything you do, your time and commitment make a real difference.

A huge thank you to all our volunteers, both familiar faces and new ones, who joined us at Appley Tower last week. It was fantastic to see such a great turnout and community spirit. We’re really looking forward to working together and making Summer 2026 a brilliant season for the Tower.

If you weren’t able to make it, it’s not too late to get involved. You can still enquire about volunteering by calling 01983 296244 or emailing [email protected].

Our management team will also be at the Tower tomorrow for a spring clean from 11am–3pm, so do pop along for a chat if you’re interested in supporting Appley Tower this season, we’d love to meet you.

🧡 Appley Tower Shines for National Grief Awareness Week 🧡
If you spotted Appley Tower glowing a beautiful shade of orange on Monday evening, it was in support of The Good Grief Trust's National Grief Awareness Week — a campaign close to many hearts.
A huge thank you again to Sienna Eve Anderson for capturing the moment so perfectly, to NDL Event Power Solutions for lighting up the tower and to Jenny Girvin-Baker for organising.
We’re proud to see Appley Tower used to support and raise awareness for such an important cause.

The stunning Appley Tower was bathed in orange light on Monday evening to highlight The Good Grief Trust National Grief awareness week.

Sienna Anderson was the official photographer and luckily, the weather gods were on her side!

She said: "Big shout out to NDL Event Power Solutions for making it happen with the lighting and to Jenny Girvin-Baker who dedicates her time each year 🤍"

The Good Grief Trust thanks Carisbrooke Castle who also lit up their site in orange🧡

Thank you to everyone who paused at Appley Tower yesterday, beautifully bathed in an orange glow by NDL Event Power Solutions, as part of National Grief Awareness Week.
The stunning images captured by Sienna Eve Anderson helped create a powerful moment for our community to stop and remember their loved ones, in support of The Good Grief Trust.
A special thank-you to Jenny Girvin-Baker, who made herself available throughout the event to speak with passers-by and offer support to local residents.
This was a truly magical community effort, with everyone volunteering their time for such an important cause. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be involved and would love to support The Good Grief Trust again next year.

🧡 Today we join the nation for National Grief Awareness Week 🧡
On the final day of the campaign, 8 December, landmarks across the UK light up orange to remember those we’ve lost and to show support for everyone living with grief.
This evening, Appley Tower will shine bright in orange as part of this powerful tribute. Let’s come together at 6pm to raise awareness, share support and remind those who are grieving that they are not alone.
Find out more at The Good Grief Trust
Special thanks to NDL Event Power Solutions
We can't wait to share your powerful images Sienna Eve Anderson
