This week has been all about the children having fun, being active , using their problem solving skills working as a team and using their imagination. They have had great fun at Cunnigar Loop on Monday thanks to Craig from Operation Play Outdoors .
Then on Wednesday we hired all the equipment from Operation Play Outdoors to have a Gigantic Crazy Loose Bits day.

It’s been 9 hard months since Noah ran over the rainbow bridge and I have missed him every day but life goes on and it’s time to open another chapter.

I Felt it was time to give a new puppy love and a forever home. I have done all the research to find a responsible breeder and I can now introduce you to ARK’s new puppy Norrie. He is a Maltese/Bichion so like Noah he is hyper allergenic. He is 15weeks old and is a small fluffy ball full of attitude. I have posted his first picture alongside Noah’s first picture. I am sure this puppy will love going into ARK the way Noah did . Some of the children met him on Friday and all the other children will be meeting him over this week.

It’s with a broken heart that I write this post .
Today we had to make the decision to let Noah cross over the rainbow 🌈 bridge.
Noah has been ARK’s pet since he was 10 weeks old and he was 10 years old on his birthday this April. He has been a huge part of ARK and he went on all the trips and outings where dogs were allowed. He joined in activities, parties and especially liked to dress up at Halloween and Christmas.
Noah has been unwell for a while but was still coming into ARK up until last Friday. He loved snack time and could be found hoovering up anything on the floor 😂😂he loved being around the children, many of who arrived at ARK saying they didn’t like dogs to find this wee white bundle who would change this , they all fell in love with him. ❤️❤️Noah loved every one and brought joy and fun to so many people.
Noah has been struggling with pain over the last few months and this became worse from Saturday morning and by today this was unbearable for the wee dog. He was never going to get better and it was unfair to put him through any more suffering. Noah knew how much he was loved .

I’m heartbroken 💔 but feel so very honoured to have been his human/mum for the last 10years. He was a little dog with a huge heart and he brought so much joy to Our family , all the children and families at ARK , everyone at Rutherglen Baptist Community Church and everyone who met him. He was a wee white ball of joy and love. We will all miss you Noah ❤️❤️❤️

Childcare Worker

ARK of Out of School Care provides services for children and families in the Rutherglen area of Glasgow. We are looking for someone to come and join our small but dedicated team to deliver high quality and stimulating play opportunities for the children who access our service, within a safe and welcoming environment.

Hours: Part Time 16 hours per week Term Time and 35+ hours per week during school holiday periods.
Hours of work will be;
• Term Time between the hours of 2.30 pm-6.30pm,
• Holiday Periods between the hours of 7.30 pm-6.30pm,

Do you share our passion to deliver high-quality childcare services?
• Ideally the person would be qualified to SVQ Level 3 Social Services (Children and Young People) or SCQF equivalent. However, suitable applicant with experience who is either currently studying for or willing to undertake study to gain qualification will be considered.
• Experience of working within a childcare setting.
• Be flexible in their availability, work additional hours as and when required.
• Able to plan/deliver stimulating and creative play opportunities for the children.
• In ARK we work alongside our children and families to develop positive, respectful and compassionate relationships, providing a ‘child centred’ approach. we are passionate about championing the rights of our children and young people whilst ensuring that they also understand that with rights come responsibilities.
• The successful candidate will also work with/develop our ‘children’s council’ providing children with the opportunities to share their opinions and ideas about their Out of School Care .
