The Ancient & Honourable Guild of Town Criers National Championship 2026-shall be held in the historic Town of Rugeley on Saturday, the 6th Day of June, 2026, from 9 o'clock in the morning until 5 o'clock in the afternoon.

From across the nation, voices of distinction shall gather to compete for the honour and glory of being crowned The Nations Champion Crier.

Among those answering the call are three esteemed criers:

🔔 Jane Smith - Bognor Regis Town Crier
🔔 Paul Gough – Nuneaton & Bedworth Town Crier
🔔 Rennie Chivers – Colchester Town Crier

Each renowned for their passion, dedication, character, and commanding cry, these worthy competitors will bring colour, tradition, and spectacle to the heart of Staffordshire.

Expect magnificent costumes, powerful voices, stirring proclamations, and a celebration of one of Britain's most cherished traditions.

Whether you are a lifelong supporter of Town Crying or witnessing this ancient art for the very first time, this promises to be a day filled with pageantry, fellowship, and unforgettable moments.

Parades coming to Town. From The Rugeley Rose to Horsefair. The Arches to Morrisons. St Augustines back to Rose for the Trucks, and into Town for the Walkers. Look forward to seeing a return of the Parade as it should be. With Thanks to Rugeley Town Council for arrangement, Staffordshire 4x4 Team and all Volunteers. It's not too late to get involved. The Event needs as many Volunteers as they can get.

We can’t wait to welcome everyone for a day packed with fun, community spirit, and of course… our AMAZING parade! 🥳🎺

📍 The parade starts at 11:30am and will be leaving from the Rose Theatre car park — make sure you grab a good spot along the route to cheer everyone on! Please see the parade route below 👇

From 9am, the town will come alive with our fabulous visiting Town Criers, who will begin their first round of cries before the parade starts!

Good People I bring surprising news!
Apparently after hosting the Wimbledon of Town Crier‑ism in 2026, on our Charter Fair day no less.
I will be joining the running order at the World Cup of Shouty Bell Clangers in Chester. THE WORLD TOURNAMENT OF TOWN CRIERS!!!
Still waiting for the “sorry, wrong person” email, but until then…
Rugeley is going to the world stage, and I’m bringing Ma Big Bell.
Pray for my vocal chords.

Good People of Rugeley and Western Springs - Illinois.
On this day, the 23rd day in the year of 2026.
It gives me Great Pleasure in wishing you all a Happy Weekend.
The Good Folk of Western Springs have spent the day, Celebrating The 69th Annual Rugeley Day, with History, Heritage and Humour. Entertainment and Events that are testament to our shared History and Twin Town Future.
On behalf of this little piece of middle England, and the Citizens herein, I send our Love and Well Wishes across the Pond on this, your Rugeley Day.

Note: Our main heritage day will be Charter Fair Day. This is a Royal Charter to hold a fair, which dates back to the 1200's. On this day, the Charter fair will be hosting The Ancient and Honourable Guild of Town Criers National Championship 2026. Competing for the Title of the Best Crier in the Nation.
Myself, Town Civic Officials and the Nations Criers will be raising a Glass in Toast to our Sister City of Western Springs -Illinois.
