This is Birch. She's a youngster who came into rescue about two months ago. She has always been a very big girl, and has a little bald patch on her shoulder. She's a little unsure of the outside world so would do well as a house pigeon, and is very steady with people. 🤍

Fostering....

We have a lot of healthy aviary ferals that need foster homes!

They need an aviary setup. Someone with space in their garden for a small aviary, and who wouldn't mind being guardians to a couple of pairs. I've also got some disabled that could do with the easy life in a foster home.

I also do have some youngsters and babies who will be perfect for indoor homes/the pet pigeon life.

I'll put up some photos of those that need homes later today with their profiles, but if you're interested in being a pigeon guardian, or building a small aviary in your garden, olease give me a shout!!

I'm absolutely exhausted but today was the first day I've actually sat down, taken a deep breath and actually had some me time.

I feel awful disconnecting my rescue number and turning off messages on here, but if I can no longer look after myself well, I can't look after the birds that I do have here. I know there are birds out there that need help, and it feels awful knowing that I can't help them.

I've managed to do a bit of cleaning between all the feeds and medicating, hopefully I'll be able to get on top of all the rest tomorrow. The house is a mess as I haven't been able to keep on top of that (the hospital has to stay tidy and clean to control any potential diseases etc) but the house and human living spaces seem to have been pushed right back to the end of the list of priorities. I'm very embarrassed by the state it's in...

Yogi 'helped' with cleaning. At least that's what he thinks he was doing. Quite the opposite but we obviously can't tell him that!

You guys are AWESOME.

Thank you so so much to all of you who have donated from our Amazon wishlist. It means so much to us, the only formula we had left was our emergency higher energy stuff so I had babies going off their rockers at me for even more food even though they were completely full and bouncing off the walls 🤣

I know we are currently closed but every single cage is currently full and I have babies left right and centre shouting at me.

We have a couple of canker pigeons in, a potential pmv, nine babies, two catted, one with young bird sickness and one with severe leg splay. Two older fledglings, one with foot sores and another severely underweight oddly with no flight feathers, and two doves in quarantine, one with a beak deformity.

All but three are partially dependent on formula feeding, so the feeding, washing up, cleaning etc takes up so so much time.

📌 Despite being closed, over the last 72 hours I have received (no word of a lie) 14 messages and 8 phone calls.
I therefore have taken the decision to set up an automated message on this account and will not be actively monitoring our Inbox, and have temporarily removed our phone number, as I find it so difficult to say no and if I take in any more at this point, I won't be able to maintain care standards for the birds I currently have and also myself.

We are again at capacity. Therefore we cannot take in any more birds.

We are also running incredibly low on supplies such as formula and critical care and I'm going to have to dip into emergency funds just to care for the ones that are currently with us.

We have multiple birds in that need regural feeds because they're so underweight, and all our brooders, isolated cages and heat pads are being used.

We have so many right now in isolation and in critical and can't keep up. I hate that we are going to have to say no to any further intakes but I physically have no where else now to put anyone.

There is severe canker going around now too which will only spread further with all the rainfall we've had.

Please keep feeders and water bowls as clean as possible in gardens etc to help with the spread. Hopefully we will be able to open again soon.

We've got a few birds with us that need adoption homes.

I'd prefer all three to go to a home where an aviary is available, especially the woodies. Both the woodies could go together if there are no other birds.

There is no adoption fee for these guys, I just want to find them somewhere suitable and species appropriate.

Please message me if you think you can help at all!

Two teeny tiny woodies brought in to us this evening, both only a day or two old!

We thought, maybe Fable will adopt them, heck no! That lady was having none of it! However, her daughter, Cheddar, accepted them like a duck to water!

That makes my life a little easier 😅

I give them plenty of other nice soft areas, but no, the best place will always be in the food bowl!!

These are my last two woodies still indoors currently, waiting until they're bigger and older before they can go outside into the aviary to wild up! They're eating super well by themselves already, but haven't yet grasped how to fly and use the branches!
