The doors opened today, and we were thrilled to welcome local supporters as Kenilworth Mayor Alison Insley cut the ribbon to officially open the store. You’ll find us at 21 The Square, Kenilworth, Warwickshire, CV8 1EE.

Your Local Air Ambulance WNDLR in numbers: 11th–17th June 🚁

- 67 missions across our five counties and beyond.
- 20 callouts on Friday, making it the busiest day of the week.
- 7 hospitals receiving patients.
- 56% of missions at night, showing how much of this work happens after dark.

The most common reason for deployment was medical incidents, with RTCs, psychiatric incidents and other trauma also making up a significant share of the week’s activity. Other missions this week included sports, industrial, burns and falls.

Every second counts in a medical emergency.

That's why we welcome the publication of the The APPG for Air Ambulances' new report, Critical Moments, Life-Saving Infrastructure: The Case for Safeguarded 24/7 On-Site Hospital Helipads at Major Trauma Centres and Specialist Hospitals.

The report highlights significant variation in access to 24/7 on-site hospital helipads across the UK and the impact this can have on patients requiring urgent specialist care. When air ambulances cannot land directly at a hospital, valuable time can be lost during secondary transfers – time that critically ill and injured patients may not have.

At The Air Ambulance Service, our crews witness first-hand the importance of rapid access to specialist treatment. While air ambulance charities provide the aircraft, clinical teams and life-saving care, hospital helipad provision is a vital part of the wider healthcare infrastructure that requires support from Government, the NHS and healthcare partners.

We support the report's call for a more consistent, resilient and equitable approach to 24/7 on-site helipad provision across Major Trauma Centres and specialist hospitals, helping ensure that access to specialist care is not determined by geography.

A huge thank you to Cathy, Lady’s Captain at Kettering Golf Club, for supporting The Air Ambulance Service in such a special way this year. Cathy is taking on 65 holes for 65 years and has also chosen us as her charity for captaincy, helping raise vital funds for our lifesaving work.
