I found another length of 2x4 in the undergrowth, which I have repurposed into a bench. I will pop it in at the end, so there is the reward of sitting and simply enjoying the view, the butterflies and bees, and the birdsong, if people choose to walk to the end. To just sit and gather one's thoughts is pretty priceless. Enjoy :)

This is the plan - keep the paths about 3 foot (1 metre) wide and let them dry out. Develop a bit of a wildflower glade opposite the first bench. Put a second bench in at the end and develop a decent wildflower glade around it. Cut back new tree growth to let the original trees flourish unhindered, and allow shafts of sunlight into the spinney. Monthly workday last Saturday of the month 2 to 4pm

I made a basic bench out of this abandoned length of 4x2. It's been sitting in the undergrowth soaking wet, for a long time, so it's gonna look a bit rustic (warped), but it'll be a place to sit and enjoy a coffee whist watching the wildlife. It goes in tomorrow :D
