This week, 19 cadets and 5 staff from attended the Shuttleworth Summer Air Show.

Despite the warm weather, everyone had a fantastic day enjoying a spectacular programme of flying displays, historic aircraft, and the unique atmosphere that Shuttleworth is renowned for. This year’s Summer Air Show celebrated the 90th anniversary of the first flight of the iconic Spitfire, making it an especially memorable event for our aviation enthusiasts.

The cadets were a credit to the Squadron throughout the day, demonstrating excellent behaviour and representing 2484 Squadron with pride. Events like these provide a wonderful opportunity to inspire the next generation through aviation heritage, teamwork, and shared experiences.

A huge thank you to all the staff who gave up their time to make the day possible and to Shuttleworth for hosting another fantastic air show.

- DUXFORD DELIVERS PLENTY-
On Monday, cadets from enjoyed an unforgettable day at Duxford Air Museum.

The day began with a behind-the-scenes tour of the famous Catalina aircraft, where cadets were given the rare opportunity to step inside and learn more about its history and operation.

They were then welcomed into the Air Traffic Control Tower for an informative talk about how air traffic control works and the vital role it plays in aviation. The Duxford Fire Service also took time to meet the cadets, showcasing their specialist vehicles and explaining their responsibilities on the airfield.

After exploring one of the museum hangars, the cadets were treated to a very special airside visit to see the British Antarctic Survey Twin Otter aircraft. Having recently completed an incredible journey from Antarctica via Canada to the UK, it was a unique opportunity to get up close to a working aircraft with a fascinating story behind it.

The entire day was packed with experiences organised especially for our cadets, providing a fantastic insight into aviation, aircraft operations and careers within the industry.

A huge thank you to everyone at Duxford who helped make the day so memorable. The cadets had an amazing time and created memories that will last a lifetime.

- TAKING TO THE SKIES -
On Saturday 30th May four cadets from the had the fantastic opportunity to visit 7 AEF (Air Experience Flight) at RAF Cranwell.

The cadets had an incredible experience taking to the skies, each of them getting the chance to take control of the aircraft during their flight, and even experienced aerobatics, making it a truly unforgettable day.

A huge thank you to the staff at 7 AEF for providing such an amazing opportunity and helping to inspire the next generation of aviators.

The cadets thoroughly enjoyed themselves and represented the squadron brilliantly.
