Here's how you can stay safe and prepared:

✅ Check Met Office for weather updates
✅ Review travel plans – check roads, trains, and buses for delays. Consider staying home.

The southbound lane of the carriageway and the footpath are both closed. Please avoid the area while emergency crews and utility partners work to make the area safe.

Weather Warning!

A yellow weather warning is in place until 10pm on Thursday 27 August for heavy rainfall and thunderstorms.

🌧️ Please take care when driving as there is a risk of surface water and spray.

🌧️ Don't drive through floodwater. Just 30 cm of water can float a car! Always find an alternative route.

🌧️ If you come across a closed road, please do not drive through it. The road closure is in place to keep you safe.

On Sunday 23 August, Nuneaton Fire Station marked a significant moment in its history when an all-female firefighter crew was on duty for the first time.

Collectively, the firefighters brought almost 44 years of operational experience, demonstrating the expertise, professionalism and commitment that our communities rely on every day.

Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service is proud to be an inclusive organisation that reflects the communities we serve. Every firefighter has earned their role through hard work, dedication and the highest professional standards.

🏕️ Planning a camping trip this August Bank Holiday?

With dry weather increasing the risk of fire, we're asking everyone to take extra care when camping, whether you're staying at a festival, campsite or enjoying the countryside.

🔥 Keep camping stoves and gas canisters well away from BBQs and other sources of heat.

🔥 Do not use disposable BBQs. They can remain dangerously hot long after use and can easily start fires if placed on dry grass or disposed of incorrectly. Never use BBQs, cooking equipment or gas appliances inside tents or enclosed spaces.

🔥 Never leave cooking equipment unattended and always ensure it has fully cooled before moving or disposing of it.

🚬 Extinguish ci******es completely and dispose of them responsibly. A discarded cigarette can quickly ignite dry grass and vegetation.

Let's all do our bit to prevent fires and keep ourselves, fellow campers and Warwickshire safe this Bank Holiday weekend.

Fire crews are currently attending a barn fire in Offchurch near Leamington. The fire is producing a smoke plume and residents are advised to keep doors and windows closed if they are affected by the smoke.
