Did you catch the lovely Cody speaking on BBC Sheffield this morning? 🎙 Cody bravely shared her story following the devastating loss of their baby girl Halle in January this year. The family spent time in the charity funded Snowdrop end-of-life suite on The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust Labour Ward.

Cody and her family will be walking in memory of Halle at this year's Autumn Memory Walk 2026 - to raise money for the hospital that cared for them during the most difficult time of their lives.

We're so proud to host this special event, sponsored by Bartholomew and Sons Funeral Directors in conjunction with Barnsley Hospital Charity. The event gives those that have lost a loved one in hospital the opportunity to come together with their local community, celebrate their loved ones life and make a lasting difference for others facing loss for years to come.

💖 Today we're remembering the incredible Dolly Parton and a special visit she made to Rotherham nearly 20 years ago.

In 2007, Dolly came to Rotherham Hospital as part of her launch of her Imagination Library programme in the UK, helping to inspire a love of reading in thousands of local children. She visited Rotherham Hospital to present the very first UK Imagination Library book to one-day-old Emma and her family.

Dolly may have been a global superstar, but we'll always remember the kindness and generosity she brought to our community. 🎵📚

Our annual memorial service to mark Baby Loss Awareness Week is being held on Thursday 15 October at 6pm in the chapel at Rotherham Hospital. All families affected by baby loss are welcome to attend.

For those who have attended the service in previous years, please note that the day has changed from Saturday to Thursday this year.

We are happy to welcome our Newly Registered Healthcare Practitioners, class of 2026 to the The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust.

The group includes soon to be Registered Nurses, Midwives and AHPs, working across a variety of clinical settings. These include our community teams, urgent and unplanned care, medicine, surgery, theatres, critical care and maternity.

Part of the welcome event today included an introduction to our multi-professional preceptorship programme, visits to their new area and even a pop-up living room for our future district nurses!

Heat exhaustion can happen when your body gets too hot and cannot cool down properly.

Know the signs:
➡ Tiredness
➡ Dizziness
➡ Headache
➡ Feeling sick or being sick
➡ Excessive sweating
➡ Cramps in the arms, legs and stomach
➡ Excessive thirst

Move to a cooler place, remove extra layers and drink cool water.
Use NHS 111 online or call 111 if symptoms get worse, do not improve, or you are worried.

Heatstroke is a medical emergency. Signs can include confusion, a very high temperature, seizures or loss of consciousness. If you think someone has heatstroke, call 999 immediately.

Hot weather can increase the risk of dehydration, especially if you are active or spending time outside.

Try to drink regularly throughout the day, unless a healthcare professional has advised you otherwise:
➡ Water and diluted squash are good choices.
➡ Take a refillable bottle when going out and carry extra water for journeys.
➡ Try to limit alcohol, as it can increase the risk of dehydration.

If you feel unwell in the heat, use NHS 111 online or call 111. In an emergency, call 999.

If you are experiencing menopause after cancer treatment, you are invited to join our Menopause Café.

This is a supportive space to connect with others, share experiences if you wish, and find out more about the support available.

A Macmillan professional will be there to offer information and guidance, and guest speakers may also attend.
