📱 The Government has announced plans to ban social media for under-16s.

The proposed measures aim to strengthen online safety, reduce children's exposure to harmful content, and encourage more time spent learning, playing and connecting offline. The changes are expected to come into force in Spring 2027.

For foster carers, supporting children and young people to navigate the digital world has always been an important part of everyday life. Whether it's setting healthy boundaries, having open conversations about online safety, or helping children build positive digital habits, trusted adults play a vital role.

Whatever your views on the proposed ban, one thing is clear: children benefit from caring adults who listen, guide and support them as they grow up in an increasingly digital world. ❤️

This was previously known as Looked After Child or LAC. The change was made in an attempt to always put the child first and to remember that, first and foremost, they are a child who happens to be looked after
