🗓️ DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE MEETING - Important attendance information

Due to high public interest in the development committee meeting at 7pm on Tuesday 16 June, we've moved the meeting to the Mill Arts and Events Centre in Rayleigh so more people can come in.

However, the Hall has a maximum capacity and entry is on a first-come, first-served basis, Doors open at 6:30pm. Once full, we won't be able to let anyone else in. This is a legal safety requirement.

đź’» Can't get a seat? Watch live from home.
The meeting will be streamed live on the YouTube channel. You'll see everything in real time, including the debate and the final vote.

A reminder that planning decisions must be made on material planning considerations only. Councillors are required by law to consider each application on its planning merits. At a meeting, you are welcome to observe and scrutinise the democratic process.

We look forward to welcoming as many of you as we can on the night.

Shaping the future of Cherry Orchard Jubilee Country Park starts with local feedback

We have launched an 8-week public consultation, running from Wednesday 10 June to Wednesday 5 August, to help guide the long-term management and improvement of the park.

The consultation focuses on two key areas:
▪️ The condition, accessibility and connectivity of the park’s paths
▪️ The draft Management Plan, including the park’s vision, priorities and proposed improvements

Your feedback will help us understand how the park is used, shape future changes, support biodiversity and improve the experience for visitors and the local community.

Essex SEND Local Offer Roadshow comes to The Mill Arts and Events Centre!

🗓️ Monday 15 June
⏰ 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
ℹ️ The Mill Arts and Events Centre, Bellingham Lane, Rayleigh, SS6 7ED

The roadshows are a series of in-person information events for parents and carers of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

During the events, attendees can speak with different SEND professionals under one roof. This includes representatives from local support groups, education professionals, health teams and social care teams.

Parents and carers can drop in to an event when it’s convenient for them without booking and:

• access support and information
• find out about the different services available
• find out about support available in schools
• find out about local support, such as parent groups
• meet other carers and parents.

For anyone who prefers a less busy environment, events are usually quieter after 11.30am.

Michelle and Joan are making a meaningful difference for families navigating neurodivergence and the SEND system through their work with STRM - SEND the Right Message Registered Charity.
