RNR members past and present helped commemorate the centenary of the Chatham Naval Memorial. The naval memorial (one of three in the UK) was unveiled by the Prince of Wales (the future Edward VIII) on 26 April 1924. ,

Congratulations to AB Riddle, A/LET Taylor, AB Daniels and AB Rocco (not in the photo) from Medway Divison who successfully passed out of HMS RALEIGH today in front of Director Submarines: RAdm Simon Asquith, and now commence their phase 2 training. The passing out parade was the culmination of two weeks of intense training alongside fellow reservists from across the UK. BZ to all

Last night members of Medway’s ships company honed their command, leadership and management skills - one of the many areas you can develop in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Today MEDWAY Division led the service of Rememberance at the Naval Memorial at Great Lines in Chatham, one of three national naval memorials in the country.

Amongst other VIPs Cdre Robert Bellfield CBE ADC - the Naval Regional Commander for London and the East of England laid a wreath on behalf of the Royal Navy

Afterwards the Ship’s Company attended remembrance service at Rochester Cathedral finishing off with a march past down Rochester High Street in front of the Lord Lieutenant of Kent.

Two of the Ship’s company also attended the Garrison Church in Chatham to turn the pages of the Naval Books of remembrance which are held there.

Remembering the Eternal Memory. Today is Trafalgar day which marks one of the Royal Navy's finest victories in 1805. So many of the sailors were from the Medway and Kent, and so was the flagship, HMS Victory.
HMS Victory was Nelson's flagship and was built at the Chatham Dockyards in 1765. She is still an active ship and can be visited in the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth.
