Your place, your say! đź’¬

How do you think ÂŁ20 million should be spent in Smallbridge, Hurstead and Belfield?

Pride in Place aims to put power into the hands of local people in some of the most in-need neighbourhoods across the UK. A Neighbourhood Board has been selected to represent local residents of Smallbridge, Hurstead and Belfield. It will work with the community to create a Pride in Place plan, setting out how up to ÂŁ20 million will be spent over 10 years.

This is a chance for businesses, community groups and local leaders to play an active role in creating long‑term change. From improved spaces to new services, your insight can help build a stronger, more connected community 💙

Have your say and help shape the future of your community!

Sleep Out so no one is left out đź’™

Imagine going to sleep tonight without knowing where you’ll wake up tomorrow.

We can’t recreate homelessness. And we wouldn’t want to.

But for one night, we can stand alongside people who face that reality every single day.

Join Petrus and Rochdale AFC Community Trust for our annual Sleep Out and swap your bed for a sleeping bag while raising vital funds for local people experiencing homelessness.

Bring your friends.
Bring your family.
Bring your colleagues.
Bring your sports club.
Bring your school.

Wrap up warm, make memories, raise money and help change lives.

Every pound raised helps local people access housing advice, outreach support, wellbeing services, practical essentials and a pathway away from homelessness.

What one food voucher really means...

One voucher = 9 meals.

Every voucher issued by Petrus equals 3 days of food, or 9 meals, for every person in that household.

Petrus Hub is Rochdale Foodbank’s second biggest referrer, providing thousands of meals to people in crisis every year, helping adults and children who are struggling to afford essentials.

Last year, Petrus helped provide over 1,800 people with emergency food support 🙌

Petrus has received a donation of ÂŁ2,282 from Manchester Credit Union, through its Busy Bee Lottery.

The funding will help us continue to support people facing homelessness across the region, providing access to housing, practical support and opportunities to rebuild lives 🙌

Partnerships and community support like this play a vital role in creating safe places for vulnerable people.

Mandy Wilcock, CEO of Manchester Credit Union, said:

“We’re proud to support Petrus through our Busy Bee Lottery. The charity does incredible work helping people facing homelessness across our region to transform their lives, and we’re pleased this donation will help ensure that vital support is there for people who need it most.”

For more than 50 years, Petrus has supported people across Rochdale, Oldham, and Burnley who are at risk of homelessness, offering safety, dignity, and a place to belong đź’™

The number of people rough sleeping has more than doubled over the last decade and every day more people find themselves facing housing insecurity and homelessness.

Every single day our team supports people who’re facing some of life’s most difficult challenge.

We are:

Making sure John can get a hot meal and drink after a cold night on the streets.

Providing Jane with a safe place to stay while fleeing an abusive relationship.

Helping Alan move into his own flat in one of our housing schemes.

Encouraging and guiding Alice to make and attend a GP appointment with her support worker.

Helping Ramesh find a new hobby that’s good for his mental health at PIER.

Making sure Alisha has someone to turn to before reaching crisis point.

And so much more! 🙌

When you fundraise for Petrus, your donations go directly towards supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our society.
