Polls Closing Soon

As polling stations prepare to close, it’s been a busy and important day speaking with residents right across Roby Ward.

From seeing polling stations open this morning, to being out and about across the community throughout the day, we’ve had so many positive conversations with local people.

Thank you to every resident who took the time to vote today and make their voice heard. Whatever the result, your participation matters and helps shape the future of our community.

Tomorrow, we’ll find out who the winning candidates are.

Spotted yesterday — sorted today.

We identified overhanging bushes along the footpath near Fields End (Wheat Hill Road) that were creating safety concerns for pedestrians and restricting visibility for drivers leaving the area.

We got this reported straight away and followed it up, and it’s now been cut back and cleared, making things safer for everyone.

This is what being visible in the community is all about. Not waiting to be told, taking action when it’s needed.

We’ve taken action to oppose the proposed telecommunications mast in our community and now we’re asking you to stand with us.

This isn’t about being against progress. It’s about making sure developments are in the right place, with proper consideration for residents, the local environment, and the character of our area.

We’ve formally objected to the application and launched a petition so residents can have their say.

Out again this evening, spending time with residents across Roby and having some really positive conversations.

People were keen to hear what we’ve been doing, the issues we’ve been tackling, and how we’re making a difference day to day. Just as importantly, we spoke about our plans for the future and how we keep building on that progress.

It’s these conversations that matter most, listening, understanding, and working together to keep moving our community forward.
