Liberty's Centre is a registered charity (Charity No. 1168530) located near Ringwood on the edge of the New Forest.

Bird of prey and conservation charity open to the public.

No two displays are the same! It is home to a large collection of birds of prey, including eagles, owls and vultures. We also house a number of reptiles and other creepy crawlies,

such as snakes, lizards and spiders in our indoor reptile house. Enjoy a visit that will prove to be fun, exciting and educational for all ages. Observe the birds flying free and the reptiles up close and personal, during various spectacular displays held throughout the day. Facilities include:

📢 Important Notice – Temporary Closure

Due to a planned power outage by SSEN, Liberty’s Centre will be closed on Thursday 18th June.

Unfortunately, electricity to our site will be disconnected for the day, making it impossible for us to operate safely and provide our usual visitor experience.

Please be assured that our staff will still be on site throughout the day caring for and looking after all of our birds and animals, so their welfare will not be affected.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. We will reopen as normal the following day and look forward to welcoming you back then.

A few highlights from today’s Photography Workshop 📸🦅

An amazing day spent capturing some of our amazing birds in flight, with plenty of opportunities for natural action shots and close up portraits. We fly our birds without anklets wherever possible, helping you achieve cleaner, more natural images.

An unexpected guest on the perch 🦅

While attending an off-site event, Dexter our Harris hawk decided he wasn’t quite ready to come back in during the flying show. Then, while we were flying our Tawny eagle Achilles, Dexter spotted an opportunity and decided he wanted to share the perch with him.

Thankfully, both birds remained calm, giving us this fantastic and unusual moment to capture.

Ozy our kookaburra showing off his lightning fast sn**ch during the 1.30pm flying display

Look closely and you’ll spot something incredible, his nictitating membrane in action 👀

This is a special third eyelid that sweeps across the eye in a split second. It acts like a built in pair of goggles, protecting the eye from dust, debris, and even prey during a catch, all while still allowing him to see clearly.
