Ringwood Town Council is the parish authority for the town of Ringwood. It is the third tier of local government, after Hampshire County Council and New Forest District Council. The Council is made up of 14 elected Councillors, who live in the area and take account of the views of local residents. The Councillors are supported by a small team of staff led by the Town Clerk.

📢 Moortown Lane Development Update

Work on the new housing development off Moortown Lane will be starting soon.

In the first phase of 150 homes:

Persimmon Homes (Charles Church) will be building 99 (Phase 1A)
Crest Nicholson will be building 51

Both companies will be working together to deliver the whole site, with further planning applications to come for Phase 2 and supporting infrastructure.

A representative from Permission Homes (Charles Church) will be attending our monthly Planning, Town & Environment Committee meetings to give updates and answer questions.

To keep things fair and consistent, they’ve asked that any questions from residents are sent via the Town Council, rather than directly. We’ll gather queries each month, pass them on, and share any relevant responses.

📩 Please send any questions or concerns to: [email protected]

🚍 New Bus Shelter Installed on Gorley Road

With thanks to funding from New Forest District Council’s Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) Local Infrastructure Fund, a new larger bus shelter has been installed on Gorley Road, next to the local shopping parade.

The new, modern shelter provides:

▪️Improved protection from the weather
▪️Upgraded seating
▪️Better accessibility for all users

The bus stop is well used by local residents, including those travelling on the Ringo circular routes, so this upgrade will make a real difference to comfort, safety, and accessibility.

A big thank you to New Forest District Council for supporting this project and helping us improve local transport infrastructure for our community. 🚌

📸 Local Talent on Display at Ringwood Gateway! 📸

We’re delighted to be hosting part of the Rotary Club Of Ringwood Inter-School Photographic Competition, organised in association with Ringwood School.

This year’s inspiring theme, “Perspective,” attracted an incredible 600+ entries from 23 schools across Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire, showcasing the imagination and talent of photographers from across the region.

Here at Ringwood Gateway, you can enjoy a selection of the exhibition featuring work from schools in Ringwood and the surrounding area. The images on display highlight a fantastic diversity of ideas, creativity and technical skill, with each entrant offering their own unique view of the world.

🌟 Come along and take a look!
Be inspired by the creativity of our local young people and see how they’ve interpreted “perspective” in such original ways.
