This week, local Conservative councillors for Rickmansworth attended the Rickmansworth Town Centre forum organised by Batchworth Community Council. The meeting was well attended by residents and local businesses.

One of the main demands from residents was for Rickmansworth to be granted two hours of free at Three Rivers District Council run car parks - a privilege enjoyed by everywhere else in Three Rivers but denied to Rickmansworth by the Lib Dem administration.

Speaking with people about their problems and working to find solutions is the bread and butter of local politics. Our team of local Cllr David Raw, Andrea Fraser and Cllr Reena Ranger will be working hard to deliver for the residents of Rickmansworth.

TRDC Lib Dems housing policy is centred around building on acres of green belt. This lazy Lib Dem approach only serves developers. However, we have an alternative approach to house planning in TRDC. One that puts preserving the green belt and the needs of our towns and villages first.

We must save the green belt from the Lib Dems

Building on undeveloped green belt is needed to meet the housing need in Three Rivers, a senior councillor has said.

Conservative leader of Hertfordshire County Council Richard Roberts has written to London Mayor Sadiq Khan about his concerns about how ULEZ is going to unfairly impact the people of Hertfordshire.

ULEZ is hugely regressive, hitting the poorest hardest, effectively targeting the least well off who are least likely to be able to replace their vehicle.

Many people in Hertfordshire must cross into London boroughs for work and leisure. Most importantly, many residents from Hertfordshire and beyond use specialist medical services such as the cancer treatment hospital at Mount Vernon. This will directly affect the residents of South West Hertfordshire.

Conservatives of SWH and Hertfordshire will continue to fight the Labour London Mayor's tax on our residents' right to drive into London for work, leisure, and to visit firends or family.

The Mayor of London is planning a ULEZ expansion with Labour and Lib Dem support in the GLA.

That means that you could be charged £12.50 every time you drive into London.

The Ultra Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ) is
a tax on drivers. Sadiq Khan introduced
it to central London in 2019, promising it
would cut pollution.

But pollution in London has increased
throughout his mayoralty, even after he
introduced ULEZ.

And instead improving public transport
into London, Sadiq Khan is planning to
charge you for driving into the city. Even
though you have no way to vote against
him or his policies.

In the middle of a global cost of living
crisis, hardworking people and small
businesses shouldn’t have to pay every
time they drive into London. And you
can send that message to the mayor.

South West Hertfordshire MP Gagan Mohindra MP joined Moore Park and Eastbury Residents and Cllrs Cllr Reena Ranger, Abbas Merali, Debbie Morris, François Neckar and Neelima Payne at the switching on of the Christmas Tree lights. Speaking to residents and enjoying the mulled wine a great time was had by all. Great work by Batchworth Community Council for organising this annual event as part of their Winter Weekend that kicks off the Festive season across the the Batchworth area!
