SOMETHING EXTRA SPECIAL 🤩 FOR THE WEEKEND
are delighted to share this extra little gem 💎 following our special post, a few days ago.
Take a good look 👁👁 at this extra special Jewel which is over 200 years old and an additional commission from the original set of eight.
Following an extra special photo shoot 📸 pre-organised by the Provincial Communication Officer and Worshipful Brother Roger Freeman, we will be pleased to share images of some very rare and extra special Masonic Items, over the coming weeks
HISTORY OF THE EIGHT JEWELS
In 1794 Sir John St. Aubyn, Baronet, The 4th Provincial Grand Master of the Province of Cornwall, presented a stunning set of eight gold Jewels to the Province to adorn the collars of the Principal Officers. With the exception of the Secretary’s Jewel which went missing, these beautiful jewels are still worn by the Principal Officers today. The surrounding pattern of the Jewels follows the same format but the inset has the emblem of their rank.
Sir John also commissioned two further Jewels (image as shown) with the inset showing a composite of Working Tool emblems as referred to in our ceremonies today. It is not known the purpose of these additional Jewels, but they could have been for two Provincial Stewards who were appointed at the same time as the other eight Jewels were presented.
An extra special photograph (🤞) will follow in the coming weeks as the Annual Provincial Meeting grows closer. Stay tuned for regular weekly updates and specials. Further Historic Masonic Items photographed yesterday, will be delivered each week for your perusal.
