π’ Very disappointing news today to hear of the risk of closure of the Redditch Town Centre Post Office.
βοΈ The threat of the closure of our town centre Post Office is a stark reminder of the impact the Autumn Budget is having on businesses all across the country.
βοΈ The closure of this essential service is a real blow to our town centre which is in desperate need of investment. The Post Office is a hub in our town and encourages footfall into the area outside the Kingfisher.
π³ The Conservatives secured Β£16 million in funding which would have seen a brand new library, restaurant area and plaza for specialist markets. Much needed investment that would reimagine the way the town centre would be used and encourage increased footfall.
π€ Labour have already scrapped these plans with nothing meaningful to replace them. This could result funding being recalled by the Government just like the Β£5 million arts and culture funding which was cancelled recently.
