The Time Travelling Treasure Hunters in 1A began their research for the National Maritime Museum today, helping them create an exhibition on the “Florencia Galleon” located off the coast of Pentreath. They asked for us to first understand exactly how the Galleon sank.

We created an image together, building the different parts with our bodies.
1) The armada approached Cornwall. The English were ready!
2) The Spanish sailors were nervous.
3) The English sent fire ships towards the armada, setting the Galleons alight!
4) The wind became strong, blowing the Galleons into one another.
5) A storm began and the sea became wild.
6) The Galleons crashed and sank, along with the Spanish sailors.

Such a beautiful piece of drama with each child playing a key role! Well done 1A!

We are organising our family learning sessions for Autumn term 2026. To confirm the course we need to know if parents would be interested to attend in September.

If this is something you are interested in please can you email [email protected].

The sessions are likely to continue on Tuesday afternoons from 1pm-3pm and are for parents of children from Reception to Year 4.

If we do not have enough interest the courses will no longer be continued, so please get in touch if you are interested.

Thank you.

A fun start to the half term in year 1…
The children have been using discover and do beautifully! They are so respectful and kind to one another 🥰
So far, the children have enjoyed exploring plants and labelling the different parts, building rockpools, serving “McDonald’s” in the mud kitchen and experimenting with paint sticks on cardboard canvases.

Fab outdoor learning Year 1!

A message fron Childrens Services Worcestershire.

Cases of measles are rising in our area.

Here's some helpful advice from our Public Health colleagues on what you need to know.

Measles spreads very easily. In some cases, it can make you very ill and lead to serious health problems if it spreads to other parts of the body, such as the lungs or brain.

Check the list of symptoms below to know what to look out for. If you think you or your child may have measles or any of the symptoms, call your GP surgery or NHS 111 first, before turning up at a healthcare setting. This will help to stop the virus from spreading.

Having the MMRV or MMR vaccine is the best way to prevent yourself from becoming very ill.

Ask at your GP surgery if you're not sure you or your child has had either of these vaccines. Your GP can vaccinate you for free on the NHS.

If any school aged children have missed their MMR vaccination or any vaccination given at school, parents can contact the Vaccination Team who will help arrange for the missed vaccinations to be given: 01905 390030.

For more information on the symptoms, vaccination, and what to do if you think you have measles or have come into contact with someone who has measles, please visit: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/measles/

Year 2 are a team of Extreme Sport Event Co-ordinators and we work all over the globe to find locations for extreme sporting events.

1) We recovered our company archive after lots of our previous work had been damaged. We discovered the sport, location and danger level of each event and recreated images to upload to the archive.

We were working hard in the office, when we received a letter from a mystery client, asking us to contact them about a potential job.

It was from Red Bull! We had to prove our credibility by sending over data from our previous events. They were greatly impressed and wanted to employ us for the job...

"We are pleased with your work and would formally like to employ you for the job. We are planning a new downhill extreme sports event, but we are unsure where is suitable. We need your team to find a potential location. The location must be safe, accessible, and suitable for a high-speed downhill sport."

Year 2 team did some research on whether all plants have the same features. They used this to inform their discovery of a kelp forest in the Indian Ocean.
Whilst diving, Team B’s signal was lost. The images of the kelp forest they discovered were lost. The divers oxygen levels were depleting. We had to listen carefully to the walkie talkie and take notes to recreate the image accurately.

Due to the tension of oxygen depleting, the calculations sent over were incorrect. Team B told us that they saw animals within the canopy, understory and forest floor. We used our maths knowledge to help record how many animals were seen over a five minute period.

Year 2 Ocean Watch Labs are marine biologists who care and protect the sea.
We know about plant life and animals. We study the places where living things grow. The findings are sometimes expected, but unusual.

We started our story in our main lab. Inspirational quotes keep us determined and focused. We have achieved many recognition awards, but we have a lot of research yet to undertake ...

Reception's team is 'The Wild Garden Explorers'.
They are experts in mapping out areas, growing vegetables, identifying animals and design solutions.

They can:
Create maps
Give advice
Grow fruit and vegetables
Identify animals
Know what food animals need
Teach people about healthy eating
Design and create solutions for problems.

We received a message in a bottle that read:
"Dear Explorers,
Our forest is in trouble. We need experts.
Please come quickly.’”

We discussed what an explorer was and what their job might be. Then we set to work selecting equipment to take with us on our journey and packed our backpacks.

We then created the map of the Island, that the forest was on, and decided as a team that we would have to fly by aeroplane to get there.
