Emergency services working together to be prepared as best possible.
- Joint Emergency Services Interoperability Principles
Today team members from HM Coastguard and Cleveland Fire Service completed a joint training session. The sessions was based on a person overboard and in the water between the harbour and a shipping vessel.
Cleveland Fire Service water rescue team deployed an inflatable platform and recovered the person (training dummy) from the water.
HM Coastguard part was to extract the casualty to a place of safety through a rope rescue protocol.
It was another good opportunity for emergency services to work together and understand each others skill sets to be able to keep the public safe.
In any coastal emergency please call 999 and ask for Coastguard.
