🌟 Did you know you can volunteer with us? 🌟

As a volunteer adult learning support assistant you will help learners to participate fully in adult education classes with the support of the tutor.

There are number of benefits that come with volunteering with the Adult Learning and Skills service which include:

At Redcar and Cleveland Adult learning service, we encourage our learners to volunteer as part of their personal development, alongside learning. Meet one of our learners, Bob, who volunteers in his free time.

"I am a retired school teacher. I did 27 years in the army and 26 years as a school teacher, and I am now retired. So far, I have studied a digital course with Emma, and I am now learning Maths to keep myself ticking over and keep my brain working.

I volunteer with the North Yorkshire Moors Railway as a station foreman. I dispatch trains and ensure safety of passengers and staff.

I enjoy volunteering as I get out of the house for a day and get to meet different people. I would encourage someone who is thinking about volunteering to target a specific interest they have and find out where they can expand on it.

To me, volunteering gives me a purpose and an aim to be of value to myself and others."
